NAINA

It was evening while I was working from home why? I don't think I need answer that. He enters the room taking a seat beside me.

His hand had a plate of food. Wait what time is it? Damn it it's 5 in the afternoon?! Time flew by. "Here"he feeds me the food.

Soon he feeds me while I finish my work after being done a maid takes away the plates okay I need to tell him.

"Reyansh" I call him out.
"Ji biwi jaan?" He turns to me. "I need to go" I say he looks at me with confusion. "Where?" He questions. "The US" I answer him.

"How long?" He says with a pouty face "one week probably" I answer he takes me in a hug as my head rests on his chest listening to his heartbeat.

He softly strokes my hair "I'll miss you" he says in a baby voice and I chuckle "Don't miss me too much" I answer a soft laugh vibrates through his chest.

"Let me inform everyone" I say getting off his grip he looks at me with a soft smile "let's go" he says intertwining our hands.

We both descend down the stairs and I call everyone in the hall we all take a seat everyone looks at me with curiosity.

"I need to leave for the US it might take a week or more" I say ending the silence in the room. Everyone nods in understanding.

"But weren't you going on a vacation by the end of this week??" Bua asks. "I think we might have to re-schedule that bua I won't be back by time" I answer her.

"That's fine dear take care of yourself when are you Leaving?" Dadu asks. "By tonight dadu" I answer him he nods at me.

"I am coming with you Bhabi?" Mihir questions. "Didn't I fire you Mr. Singhania?" I ask him raising a eyebrow he scratches the back of his head as all eyes snap towards him.

"Sorry Na Bhabi! Pls! This is not fair Bhabi apne bhai ko maaf kardiya but mujhe nahi?" He says whining like baby.

"Tujhe pata bhi nahi Maine kaise maafi mangi hai" Reyansh says who was sitting beside me I look at him with wide eyes. "Apko apki zindagi pyaari nahi hai kya bhai?" Aarav says.

"But guys what are you talking about? Kaise mangi bhai apne maafi?" Raihaana asks clearly confused. I can feel the heat rising to my neck as the others break down into laugher.

"Tu Jane de bachi hai Abhi" Aarav says between his laughter. "Silence!" I say in a loud voice and that's all they all went silent.

"Let's us all go on a ice cream date" I say and everyone nods the younger ones full of excitement and happiness.

It was still evening as we got ready for the ice cream outing. Reyansh had been unusually quiet, which wasn't like him. Normally, he'd be teasing everyone or finding ways to make me laugh. But tonight, his silence spoke volumes. He didn't want me to leave, and that unspoken emotion hung between us like a fragile thread.

As I slipped on my sandals, he gently held my hand. "Wait," he said softly, his eyes meeting mine. There was a vulnerability in them I rarely saw.

I turned to him. "What happened?"

He hesitated for a moment, then smiled-a small, wistful smile. "Nothing. I just... I want you to promise me one thing."

"What?"

"Take care of yourself," he said, his voice almost a whisper. His thumb brushed across my knuckles. "I'm not going to be there to make sure you eat on time or remind you to rest. So, promise me you'll do it for me."

His sincerity tugged at my heart, and for a moment, I couldn't speak. I just nodded, swallowing the lump forming in my throat. "I promise."

But something about the moment made me want to do more. I wanted him to feel how much he meant to me, even if I wasn't here. So I took a deep breath, walking over to my bedside table. From the drawer, I pulled out a small wooden box-a box that carried more than just an item; it carried memories.

He looked at me curiously as I walked back to him, holding the box close. "What's this?"

I opened it, revealing a delicate, silver chain with a tiny compass pendant. His eyes widened, recognizing it instantly. "This was..."

"My dad's," I finished, smiling softly. "He gave it to me before I left for college. He told me it would always guide me back to the people I love."

Reyansh looked at me, stunned. "And you're giving this to me?"

I nodded, feeling the weight of the moment. "Sirf bulane ke liye aapko jaan nahi kehtihu, meri jaan sahi me basti hai aap me reyansh, agar mai chand hai to aap chandi, i am incomplete without you"

His lips parted, but no words came out. Instead, he pulled me into a tight embrace, burying his face in my hair. "Biwi jaan," he murmured, his voice thick with emotion. "You have no idea how much this means to me."

I held him just as tightly, feeling his heartbeat against my cheek. "Just don't lose it," I teased, trying to lighten the mood.

He pulled back, a tear escaping the corner of his eye as he laughed softly. "I'd never lose something this precious. And even if I did, I'd search every corner of the earth until I found it again."

I smiled, reaching up to wipe the tear away. "Reyansh, don't be so dramatic."

He chuckled, his dimples making an appearance. "I'm only dramatic for you, Mrs. Reyansh Singhania."

The moment was interrupted by Mihir, shouting from downstairs, "Are you guys coming or should we eat all the ice cream ourselves?"

Reyansh groaned, rolling his eyes. "Can we fire him again?"

I laughed, grabbing his hand. "Let's go. But no more whining, okay?"

As we joined the others, his fingers intertwined with mine, the compass now around his neck. And for the rest of the evening, his mood lifted, the quiet replaced with his usual teasing and laughter.

But every now and then, I'd catch him fiddling with the pendant, a small smile playing on his lips. It was a silent promise between us-a reminder that no matter how far I went, my heart was always with him.
