Chapter WHAT REMAINS

BEGIN RECORDING: TALON

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

It felt different than before...

Wolf could remember the actions he had committed all those years before in an operation that dragged him and a lot of others through the dirt to thwart the Ferri's advance through the western plains. The countless bullets, the countless artillery batteries firing all they had at each other and the screams that echoed across the plains to turn to silence when the gunfire finished it's victims off.

A place where dreams and wishes go to die....The amount of people that fought in the area along with the deaths of each and everyone of them, crying, screaming for their parents to save them but no one would hear the cries in those trenches that they held and pushed. Wolf could remember the times he had to fight with his own fists with the amount of Ferri dolls that tried to clear the area...

The screams of agony and helplessness echo through the minds of the soldiers including him as the beast moved further and further inland. The words of the others echoed clear to hold the line no matter how much life it took and it did take all it took, with 90% of the forces on that day succumbing to their injuries, it was a hectic fight with so much death that Wolf could not understand how he made it...

There were others with lives that wanted to live more than he did, one s who smiled more than he did and ones who did more for the world than he could ever do now. He looked at his blood soaked hands, they dripped onto the cement floor with the view of the man who was lying there without a single pulse or move in his body. He believed he did the right thing... in his eyes at least it felt like it did.

He knew that in the Forces, if he were to do that he would of been imprisoned for brutality but could anyone blame him? He looked behind him to see Abi and Evans look at him in pity, they knew he couldn't help it and for a man like him he was bound to snap since it wasn't a matter of if  but a matter of when. Evans stepped past Wolf to see the hunter dead on the floor with the bloodied Axe in his hand but his grip had faded long ago.

He puts his hand softly on it's handle, pulling it from the hunters hands to look at the blood that was on it..."All those people....christ....". He drops the weapon onto the cold concrete ground watching it bounce on the floor sending some of the droplets to soak into the concrete, however Evans blocks the view of the body and the axe putting his hands on the weakened shoulders of Wolf softly. He looks at his friend with a sharp glare of sadness and worry.

"Wolf can you stand?", "Yeah....don't worry about me...", "Wolf let me patch you up you've got blood on your shoulde-" Abi said but before she could look at it she noticed that the wound that was sitting there minutes before.

Was gone

It wasn't possible, could it be a lack of sleep that she imagined it? She couldn't tell, only that the wound had healed up which made it all the more suspicious to her...what she hadn't noticed however was that Wolf was looking at her with his eyes looking at her and his shoulder, he knew he couldn't hide it forever and it was better to clear it up to them now than tell them later since he could trust them with this information after all.

"So you noticed didn't you?" Abi looked around pretending not to look at the wound that she was looking at before but it was no use to her and Evans who was trying to wrap his head around what was going on. "It's fine Abi I thinks it's time to come clean about it after all.." He stands up and walks slowly to the front of the town hall, just to make sure that the others down there are not hearing what he was about to say.
