As our conversation drew to a close, I felt a sense of anticipation building within me. This training could be the key to unlocking my full potential, to mastering the powers that had been bestowed upon me.
As I walked back to my hotel, the streets of London bustling around me, I couldn't help but feel a sense of determination. This was a new beginning, a chance to grow stronger and better prepared for the challenges ahead.
The training with Saint Irinaus would be intense and demanding, but I was ready for it. I had to be. The road ahead was long and uncertain, but I would face it with the same resolve that had brought me this far.
For now, I would rest and prepare for the training that awaited me. The next chapter of my journey was about to begin, and I was determined to make the most of it.
Nejire's POV
The two-week break had finally arrived, and the Big Three had decided to spend some time just relaxing and hanging out. After the intense events at U.A. and the Sports Festival, we all needed a breather. Today, we decided to meet up at our favorite café near the beach, a place where we could unwind and talk about anything but school and hero work.
Mirio and Tamaki were already seated at our usual spot when I arrived. Mirio waved energetically, his broad smile as infectious as ever, while Tamaki gave a shy nod, half-hidden behind the menu.
"Hey, Nejire!" Mirio greeted, pulling out a chair for me. "Glad you could make it. We were just about to order."
"Hey, guys!" I said cheerfully, taking my seat. "I'm so ready for some downtime. What are we getting?"
We spent the next hour chatting about everything and nothing—Mirio's latest training routines, Tamaki's new favorite anime, and the upcoming hero events. It felt good to laugh and relax without the looming pressure of our responsibilities.
But as we sat there, the sound of the waves crashing against the shore and the scent of the salty sea air triggered something in me. A flood of old memories began to surface, unbidden and unexpected.
Suddenly, I was no longer in the café with my friends. My mind took me back to a time long ago, to a schoolyard bathed in warm sunlight. I saw myself as a young girl, carefree and full of energy, playing with a boy around my age. He had messy green hair and sparkling eyes full of curiosity and determination. We were laughing, running around, and sharing stories.
I remembered the feeling of his small hand in mine as we explored the world together, his voice full of excitement and dreams. We had talked about becoming heroes, about changing the world for the better. Those memories were filled with warmth and happiness, a stark contrast to the harsh realities we faced now.
But who was he? His face was so clear in my mind, yet I couldn't place him in my current life. The memories felt like fragments of a dream, slipping away the harder I tried to grasp them.
"Nejire? Are you okay?" Mirio's voice broke through my thoughts, pulling me back to the present.
I blinked, realizing I had been staring off into the distance. "Oh, sorry. I just... got lost in thought for a moment."
"Everything alright?" Tamaki asked quietly, concern in his eyes.
I forced a smile. "Yeah, just some old memories. Nothing to worry about."
They nodded, accepting my explanation, and we continued our conversation. But I couldn't shake the feeling that those memories were important. There was something about that boy, something that felt unfinished, unresolved.
As we walked along the beach later, the sun setting in the distance, I found myself lost in thought again. Who was that boy? And why did those memories resurface now? I had no answers, only a lingering sense of nostalgia and a strange connection to someone I couldn't remember.
"Hey, Nejire, you coming?" Mirio called out, breaking into a run along the shoreline. Tamaki followed, albeit more slowly, his shyness evident even in his movements.
"Yeah, coming!" I shouted back, shaking off the melancholy that had settled over me.
For now, I pushed the memories aside, focusing on the present and enjoying the time with my friends. But I knew that one day, I would have to uncover the truth about those memories and the boy who seemed so familiar yet so distant.
As the evening drew to a close and we parted ways, I couldn't help but glance back at the ocean, the waves now calm and gentle under the moonlight. The memories had stirred something within me, a curiosity and a yearning to understand my past.
I didn't tell Mirio and Tamaki about the boy in my memories. Not yet. I needed to figure it out on my own first. But deep down, I knew that those memories held a key to something important, something that might one day shape my future. but i know one thing i wont forget the promise I had made to be the best hero i could be.
