Ben had already left, and only Stan,y/n and Carl were left.

"You better give us his best behaviour." Stan ordered her and she nodded.

She needed to have a talk with him. To calm him down and make him understand that this was important.

It wasn't something permanent.

They just had to pretend,right?

And for it to work, she had to make sure, Ben and her were on the same page.

.

Y/n turned her heels towards his residency but upon reaching, she found out he wasn't there.

There was some employee passing by so she thought of asking him.

"Hey..umm..have you seen Soldier boy?" She asked.

"Yes ma'am. Sir is in the meeting room with the other team." He answered.

"Thank you." She smiled and he nodded.

Looked like she had to wait to have a talk with him.

.

Everyone's head shot towards Y/n as she entered the room. Ben was leaning against the wall, a cigarette hanging loosely from his lips, the others scattered around the room.

' Smoking helped him think,right? '

As soon as he saw her, his eyes narrowed.

"Ah, if it isn't my new girlfriend." He sneered.

The room fell silent. Crimson Countess raised an eyebrow, amused. Gunpowder looked bewildered, while Tommy and Tessa exchanged puzzled glances. Swatto, mindstorm and noir were completely confused.

Crimson broke the silence first.

"What the hell is this, Ben? New girlfriend?"

Ben flicked ash from his cigarette, his eyes never left Y/n.

"Yeah, apparently, we're supposed to pretend to date to manage public perception. Some genius idea from Carl and Stan."

Tommy leaned forward, intrigued.

"You're kidding, right?"

Y/n crossed her arms, her annoyance clear.

"No, he's not. Stan thinks this is the best way to handle the rumors."

Tessa snorted, shaking her head.

"And you both agreed to this?"

Ben's expression turned hard.

"Not exactly willingly. I told her not to, but she agreed anyway."

Y/n shot him a glare.

Crimson scoffed when she heard that y/n agreed anyway.

"It's not like we had a choice, Ben. Stan was insistent."

Ben pushed off the wall, and advanced on Y/n.

"You had a choice. You could've said no. But you just had to go along with it, didn't you?"

Crimson's eyes sparkled with amusement.

"This is going to be entertaining."

Y/n stood her ground.

"I did what I thought was best for the team."

Ben let out a bitter laugh.

"Best for the team? Or best for you? You just can't stand not being the perfect little soldier, can you? For Stan?"
