"We have to prepare your hair for the washing first. Might I ask for a bucket of water, and cloth for wiping your hair?" Myne said. Otto got to work immediately. As he got the water ready, Corinna changed into clothes she wouldn't mind getting wet, while I lined up the materials we did have. I wanted to actually apply the shampoo mainly to bring back some fond memories.

Back on Earth, kids that I babysat would often come over to my house while their parents were away rather than me going to their house. One of the kids favorite things to do was to play spa. My parent's bathroom had a variety of spa type materials such as a pedicure tub, and a shampoo bowl. I would use those to wash their hair and paint their nails, all to make them feel special. I think every kid deserves the chance to feel extra special, and that was one of my ways to give them a special moment.

"So this is the stuff, huh? How's it work?" Otto, eyes gleaming with interest, shook the jar, peered inside, and smelled its contents.

"You'll see." I wipe off my hands on the cloth I was given.

"Mr. Otto, please wait in a separate room once the water is ready. It would be very boorish of you to spy on a woman prettying herself up." I glance at Myne, confused as to why she felt the need to ask Otto to leave. Not that it would change the outcome of anything.

"Quite so. Otto dear, please wait outside." With Corinna's support, the two of them effectively forced Otto out of the room. After he was gone, I picked up the jar with the shampoo and poured it into the water while explaining what I was doing in a gentle voice.

"This is called -shampoo.- I've filled the bucket about half full with water, and then added about a palm size amount of the -shampoo- in. Please undo your hair as I will be dipping your hair into the water." Corinna undid her hair and timidly lowered her hair into the water. Her hair wasn't as dirty as most people by the gate, but it definitely was drier than our family's hair because she hadn't used our shampoo. I gently splashed water on her hair to clean it, and then gently massaged in the product at the scalp. "Make sure to thoroughly clean the scalp as that is where oil production starts." I say in a hushed voice before continuing to wash her hair.

"...Having another clean my hair feels quite nice. I hadn't the faintest idea this would be so pleasant."

"I've had a lot of practice between washing Myne and my sister Tuuli's hair. I am glad another can reap the harvest of my practice." Corinna had quite a lot of hair, making it more difficult to wash, but I enjoyed it nonetheless. I glanced over towards Myne, who was washing me closely.

"With what you just said I can now see how Otto managed to tell you two apart so easily." Corinna lets out a small laugh. "You have a sophisticated manner of speaking, where did you learn such a thing, Milli?"

"I learned it in my dreams Mrs. Corinna." I've had a more formal way of speaking since I was around 8. It was at that time I resolved to become a princess, and of course princesses have to be very poised in everything they do. Even after I came to terms that I'd probably never be a real princess, I was unable to revert back to my prior manner of speaking. Silence overtook the room once again before Corinna spoke up again.

"...Milli, sweetie. Might I ask you something?" Her tone a bit more stiff than before.

"Of course." I splash some more water onto her hair.

"What is Otto like when working at the gate?" My hands freeze, slightly taken aback by the question. Corinna's expression clouded. "He abandoned his life as a merchant for me, so I can't help but feel a tad worried..." I glance over towards Myne, signaling her to answer the question. I really only talked to Otto when it was necessary, Myne was a lot more friendly with him than I was. She would be the better person.
