Chapter 6 - Edward Returns

                                    

                                          
Bella picks Harley up for school.
"You know, we could have taken my car?" Harley asks 
"You drove last time. We can take turns." Bella replied with a shrug. 
"Yeah, but my car isn't a piece of--"
"Don't hate on the truck." Bella says, and Harley laughs.

"Mr. Hale." Harley greets Jasper, as she sits down next to him.
"Ms. Beck." He says back and they are silent for a few seconds until Harley starts giggling. Jasper chuckles. "Edward's back." 
Harley's brows raise at that. "Really?"
"Yup. He read our minds. He knows what you are. I think he is scared of you." Jasper said so only she could hear.
Harley chuckles. "As long as he doesn't do anything to harm me or someone I care for, he has no reason to be."
"That's basically what we told him." Jasper says and class starts.

Harley was at her locker before lunch when Edward approached her. 
"So you're a tribrid." Edward says
Harley barely spares him a glance. "Yup."
"Why did you move to Forks?"
"Threw a dart on a map. It landed here."
"Really?" Edward asks, not believing her.
"Yup."
"You aren't going to harm anyone or expose us?"
"Why the hell would I do that?" Harley asks looking at Edward.
"You're a different kind of vampire. You don't have to follow the Volturi's laws."
"Even if I don't follow Aro and his little group of slaves, it doesn't mean I go out killing and exposing what I am to people. I don't expose myself to people I do not trust. And even if I trust them, if they are human, I still don't tell them. To be frank, I have no reason to harm anyone and if I'd known that this town had cold ones crawling all over it, I would have thrown another dart. But I'm here now, Emmett is my mate, and I'm staying." Harley said before she grabbed her lunch bag and an insulated water bottle out of her locker, before slamming it shut. She started walking away from Edward and towards the cafeteria.
"Just stay away from Bella." Edward says and Harley stops and turns around to face him. 
She walks up to him slowly with dangerously dark eyes. Edward backs into the lockers. "Excuse me."
"I don't want you to hurt her." Edward says with a stutter.
Harley laughs. "Me hurt her? That's hilarious. You should be taking your own advice. All you have done since she has moved here is make her feel like crap about herself. I have been her friend since I met her. And let's be real. If anyone is putting her in danger it's you. You can't even control your bloodlust around her, you had to leave town. So the person that will slip and hurt her, won't be me. It would be you...If you tell me to stay away from my friend again, I will show you exactly why Aro is so scared of me." Harley says with a glare before storming away into the lunch room.

Emmett stands when he sees Harley storming over to their table, obviously mad about something.
