(this is before Bryan was brought back to life)
3rd pov:Atlas and Inpu had gotten into a small argument which quickly escalated. the two never meant for 80% of the arguments to happen yet they do. the small spark turns into a burning flame and all they can do is wait for it to calm down. Femi and Lotus could both feel the tension coming from the two, it was unbearable.
Atlas ran outside to the garden where the flowers were slowly starting to wilt away due to inpus poor gardening skills. the sound of wind flying through the air seemed to soothe atlas down quite a bit. Atlas sat down as he brought his knees to his chest hugging them tight.
Whenever he was around Inpu he never felt like an actual person, Someone to be loved and cared for. He felt like a cheap temporary replacement awaiting the 'original' to come back and take his place. He never had something against Bryan, hell he hasn't even met him. but the constant fear of knowing that someday he'd be gone tormented his thoughts each time he tried to look on the bright side.
Half an hour had gone by and Atlas heard footsteps walking up from behind him. He turned to the side seeing Inpu looming above him awkwardly.
"Do you mind if I sit here?" inpu asked with a sweet tone trying to calm the situation down a bit.
"Yes I do mind" Atlas answered quite bitterly before turning his head away from Inpu. inpu sighed deciding to sit down ignoring Atlas's comment against it.
"I want to apologize, for what I did. I'm sorry for always yelling at you and I didn't mean to go off on you." inpu stuttered nervously, he wasn't one to talk about emotions. but he hated the constant conflict between the two of them, it felt like it never ended.
As Atlas listened to his carefully worded apology he couldn't help but feel inflicted. on one side he felt guilty for all the times he'd been rude to Inpu. but on the other hand, he felt like he shouldn't be apologizing. inpu had always put himself and his studies first before anything. it ticked him off so much, yes obviously Inpu needed to grieve the loss of his husband but he couldn't be clinging onto him forever, he needed to stop focusing on the past and focus on the present and future. atlas wishes he could just get that through his thick skull.
As Inpu finished his apology, atlas realized that Inpu did in fact acknowledge his wrong actions and wanted to start focusing on what he had in front of him more. his kids.
"I forgive you, Dad" Atlas awkwardly said after a minute or two. For some reason, he felt embarrassed to call him dad. not that he was embarrassed about his dad, he was just embarrassed about him being 'soft'.
Other than that, he was glad he and Inpu could see eye to eye for once. It was a nice change for once, no yelling or fighting just father and son bonding.
