It's a Tuesday but feels like another dull Monday, dreadful, weary and slow. I can't wait for Saturday. Oh, I forgot, Vanessa texted, I should probably write back. 𝘞𝘢𝘯𝘵 𝘮𝘦 𝘵𝘰 𝘱𝘪𝘤𝘬 𝘶 𝘶𝘱? Alexander is sick and moms still at the hospital, she's my only hope as to not walk to school. 𝘠𝘦𝘴 𝘱𝘭𝘦𝘢𝘴𝘦, 𝘐'𝘮 𝘴𝘰 𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘳 𝘸𝘢𝘭𝘬𝘪𝘯𝘨. Twenty minutes and she's in the driveway, she's lucky she has a car to drive, I only have my moms and she's using it right now. I walk out with a piece of bread in my hand and my backpack hanging on one shoulder about to fall off. "Good morning sleeping beauty, did even mind to fix your hair?" I glance over next-door to see Anthony staring at me with his backpack slung over his shoulder, I wave, he waves. I look at Vanessa, then back at him, then I yell. "Hey, need a ride for school?!" I point to the car so he could get the message, he nods and starts walking towards us. I look at Vanessa and she's making an approving face, nodding. I roll my eyes at her and smile, she's such a goof. "He's my new neighbor." I shrug, Anthony meets me by the car. "Hey, this is Vanessa, Vanessa this is Anthony my neighbor." I smile, Vanessa waves through the windshield, Anthony gives her a little wave with a funny smile. "Hey." I hop in on the passenger seat and pull down the mirror, I brush my hands through my hair and put it in a messy bun. While Anthony is going around to the back seat, Vanessa whispers to me. "He's hot." I gaze at her and smile.

"Here" Van hands me a paper bag. It smells wonderful. "What's this?" She rolls her eyes. "Just open it" And there in front of my eyes is my favorite thing in the world "Jelly rolls" I stare at her in awe, she smiles. "Yup, outta the bakery, mom made them this morning, fresh batch" Vanessa's mom owns a bakery down the street by the convenience store, best in town. My mouth waters, I shove them in my mouth and oh my gosh their so much better than good, their excellent. I let out a moan of pleasure, their delicious. I gesture to Anthony in the back seat to see if he wants some, he nods with a smile, a very cute smile. I hand him one. "Thanks." I nod and smile. "Mhm." He takes a bite, a little nibble to test it out, he then takes a bigger bite, through a mouth full he says, "Damn, these are delicious." I start to giggle; Vanessa looks at me then back at Anthony and laughs. "Hey, you have something, like." I quit speaking and just point at my cheek gesturing to his, he has powdered sugar all over his face. He wipes the back of his hand across his face and laughs. "I'm not the only one." He brings his hand to my face and lets out a deep laugh, he dabs my nose with a napkin that I gave to him. I could feel my face start to heat up, and I could feel Vanessa eyeing me with a smirk. Anthony just sets the napkin on the arm rest and keeps eating, looking out the window. "Ok, let's go before were late."

We walk into school together, luckily our lockers aren't that far away from each other, hers is two or three away from mine, I watch were Anthony goes, he's a across the hall from me. Me and Vanessa have math first, that's the only class I have with her. "Anthony, what class you have?" He walks over and leans on the locker and looks down at a piece of paper. "Biology." I look around. "Do you know where it is?" He shakes his head; I tell Vannessa I'll meet her in class after I show Anthony around. Me and Anthony walk around a bit, waving to some friends along the way. "So." He doesn't look at me. "So." We both glance at each other the same time, I giggle. "Where'd you move from?" I look at my feet while walking. "Hawaii." I look at him in amazement. "No fucking way." He smiles. I stop suddenly. "Hawaii? Isn't that like the prettiest place in te world." He shrugs. "I don't think in the world, I mean it has its pros and cons, but yeah its gorgeous." I shake my head. "And your now here." He shrugs again. "Oh yeah, this is the lunchroom, and over there is English." He looks at me, he has to tilt his head down a little, because of my height, which is weird because I've never meet someone my age that is that tall, I'm 5'4, and he's like 5 inches taller. "What about you?" I shrug, I hate talking about myself, asking questions is way more easier. "Born here and stayed here, same house and everything." I start walking forward again with him following. "Everything huh?" "Yup, very boring, and you, I bet Hawaii was terribly boring." I smile, the sarcasm in my voice. "Terribly boring, yes, we had to go to the beach all the time, get dragged to barbeques." Oh my gosh, that sounds like music to my ears, I want that, I want to leave this hellhole, go somewhere new, meet new people. "Damn, sounds amazing." I dream about going to Italy drinking wine with some friends, or Spain playing soccer with the Spanish, making it to MLS, being famous and having fun. A life partying not needing to worry about money, something to do every day, fun, I need fun. I show him to Biology, him talking about what he did in Hawaii, he lived on Oahu, has no siblings, and his dad works as an electrician and his mom is a wedding planner, he has two main friends, Xavior and Johnathan, I can tell he misses them.

In class Vanessa taps me on the shoulder, we sit next to each other because our teacher is nice enough too, any other teacher would separate us at a blink of an eye. "Hey Eve's" "Yeah, what's up?" "You know I love you, right?" "Yes, and I love you too" I side hug her, we laugh.
