Y/N had been with Hook and his crew for about a week now. She loved it, working on the ship with the pirates and helping Hook fight against Peter Pan. Plus, Hook would take her on romantic escapades all over the island, proudly showing her his home.

But her favourite place to be was in his bedroom. Now, he'd set Y/N up with her own quarters, as it was good form for a lady to be able to have her own private space among a ship full of men. But it got lonely in her quarters, and Y/N preferred to be at Hook's side anyway. He was powerful and strong, and he made her feel safe against the dangerous aspects of Neverland.

One night, she was sitting on his bed, reading a book, while Hook was at his desk, looking over a map of the island. He looked up and gazed lovingly over at Y/N; she was completely lost in the story she was reading.

He cleared his throat and stood, but Y/N still didn't look up. Raising his eyebrow, Hook approached the bed and sat beside her, but she still didn't acknowledge him. "Uhm, Y/N?"

She held her finger up as she feverishly finished her chapter before sticking the bookmark in and snapping it shut. "Sorry luv, I needed to finish this chapter. The story is simply riveting!"

Hook chuckled and nodded. "That's alright, I understand. I used to read a lot before I became capitan. I still try to, at times." He waved his hand dismissively. "But, anyway, that's not why I need to talk to you."

"Need? What could we need to discuss?" Y/N asked, growing concerned as his tone turned more serious.

"Your home," Hook admitted, lowering his gaze. "Where you came from."

"What about it?" she asked, tilting her head to one side.

Hook clasped her hand in his and chewed on his lip. "When do you want to go back?"

Y/N gasped lightly, not expecting him to bring this up. She realised she'd almost forgotten about her home. She had been sent on a mission. But they all probably thought she was dead by now since she had sent no letters via carrier pigeon and the rest of the crew had drowned when mermaids sunk their boat. "I...I haven't thought about that," she mumbled, swallowing thickly. "I don't... I don't think I want to."

"No... don't say that," the capitan whispered, bringing his hook to her chin to tilt it up so she was looking into his eyes. "You had a life there. And as much as I would love for you to have a life here with my crew... and with me... it's bad form to hold you here."

"It's not 'holding' me here if I want to be here," she pointed out, the cool metal sending shivers down her spine. "My old life was dull. Boring. I didn't feel as though I was getting much out of it. But in this past week, with you... I've had more adventures than some people can dream up in a lifetime. I've met fairies and seen mermaids. Hell, I've flown to the tip-top of mountains. I don't want the adventures to end. I don't want my time here with you to end," she added quietly, tears pricking her eyes.

"I don't want it to end either. However, I think it has to come to a close. It's the cruel, harsh reality of it all." Hook gazed sadly at Y/N, taking in her beautiful eyes.

"But Neverland is a dream. Reality doesn't work here," she told him, her voice breaking. "Don't make me leave. Please."

"I think we both need more time to think this over." Hook drew away from Y/N and stood, pulling his eyes away from her as he walked across the room to his washroom door. "I'm going to wash up. We will continue this discussion later."

Y/N watched Hook as he disappeared into his washroom and started a bath. She bit her lip, trying to suck in her tears. She needed to prove to the capitan that she was serious about her decision to stay. Her life back on the mainland was nowhere near as fulfilling as Neverland. But how would she convey that to Hook?
