As Adam parked the bike, I took my hands off him and hopped off. I turned around and realized what restaurant he brought us to.

"Wasn't this place just rebuilt or something?" I ask.

I look over my shoulder to see Adam taking off his leather gloves and putting them and the keys in his pocket. "A little over a month ago, yes. I've been here a few times; thought you might like what they have." He answers with a smile.

"I forgot to tell you that Liz wanted cheese sticks and chicken tenders. I promised I'd bring them home so I hope you brought money." I tease. I remember Elizabeth saying Adam grew up in a rich family in his home country but I don't know if he knows I know.

I'm just letting things play out at this point. I haven't had a change in my day-to-day life other than going to work, getting days off, and going back to work.

Every day was a blur, so that's why I took the offer of Adam taking me out for a break. I think I changed my mind about him.

"Come on." I get startled by the feeling of a warm hand taking mine. As he takes my hand, I take a peek at the tattoos on his arm. I can see the fine detail of the myrtles and roses bunched together.

I wonder how long all of his tattoos took.

As we approached the entrance of the newly built restaurant, I couldn't help but admire its modern architecture. The exterior was sleek and inviting, with large glass windows that offered a glimpse of the stylish interior within. The evening sun cast a warm glow on the facade, adding to the allure of this new culinary hotspot in town.

Pushing open the heavy glass door, we stepped into the foyer, greeted immediately by the soft hum of conversations and the aroma of freshly brewed coffee. The interior was tastefully decorated, blending contemporary design elements with cozy touches. The walls were adorned with abstract art pieces, and clusters of pendant lights hung elegantly from the high ceiling, casting a gentle glow over the polished wooden floors.

A hostess greeted Adam and I with a warm smile, offering to lead me to us table. "Has a woman by the name of Weverly Mason come in to take a booth yet? We're here to meet up with her." Adam asks the hostess nonchalantly. She nods. I look up at Adam and shoot him a puzzled look.

He didn't say she'd be here. I thought it was just the two of us.

As we followed her through the dining area, I noticed the careful attention to detail in every aspect of the restaurant's layout. The tables were spaced generously apart, ensuring privacy while still maintaining a sense of intimacy. Each table was adorned with simple yet elegant tableware, adding to the sophisticated ambiance.

The restaurant buzzed with activity as patrons savored their meals and engaged in animated conversations. I caught snippets of laughter and enthusiastic discussions about the menu. The atmosphere was vibrant yet relaxed, making it clear that this place was quickly becoming a favorite among locals and visitors alike.

I turn my head back in front of me and immediately spot Weverly sitting in a booth with cushioned seats. She's sitting against the wall with her phone in her hand.

I guess Adam planned things out to where he and I sit across from each other. Or maybe it's just a coincidence.

As Adam and I take a seat across from each other, the hostess walks away to let us decide on what we want.
