Finally, 1st September 1992 came around and it was time for the daughter to finally go to Hogwarts with her older brother. It was time for her to finally leave her parents. But to be able to get to Hogwarts, they need to get on the Hogwarts express from platform 9¾. Platform 9¾ is a magical platform between the muggle platforms of 9 and 10.
“We have to run through a wall?”
“Yes Char”
Platform 9¾ was filled with kids and their families from all over the UK. The platform was overflowing. It was so busy. There were so many different families of so many different sizes. As you can guess, the platform was filled with noise as the children said goodbye to the parents and siblings who don’t go to Hogwarts while greeting their friends for the first time in 2 or more months.
The little family that we are following were just stood off to the side. The father was tall with a ruddy face and a scrubby brown beard. He was wearing a white button up shirt, brown trousers and a long green coat. His name was Amos Diggory. The mother had light blonde hair and brown eyes. She was wearing a yellow dress that went to her knees. No one really knows her name. The son was a tall and extremely handsome young man with chiselled features, dark hair, and bright grey eyes. He was already wearing the male Hufflepuff uniform. The daughter, the main character of this story, had long brown hair that went past her shoulders and brown eyes. She was wearing the Hogwarts uniform without any of the house colours. This is Charlotte Meredith Diggory. Charlotte was currently trying and failing to make the skirt longer. “stop that, Charlotte. You are going to ruin your uniform and you look so pretty” The mother said to the girl but before she could snap at her
HONK!!!
The doors to Hogwarts express opens. Before Amos and his wife could say anything about Charlotte being careful, she ran off onto the train soon followed by Cedric. The siblings ended up sitting a compartment alone. Charlotte went abd sat crossed legged next to the window and Cedric sat across from her. “Char, you need to start less fights with Mum abd dad” Cedric said sighing. Charlotte nods “I know Ced but I just..... I get so wound up by them I can’t help it. They don’t let me do anything but they expect you to do everything”. Cedric leans forward to her “Char, there’s going to be a lot of people at Hogwarts who will wind you up. You need to try and keep calm”. Charlotte nods and looks out the window “I’ll try” she mumbles. For the rest of the train ride the pair talked about how amazing Hogwarts is.
Finally, when they arrived at Hogsmeade the siblings were split up as Cedric had to get on the carriages abd Charlotte had to get on the boats. “Be kind, Charlotte” Cedric said before they were split up. Charlotte ended up in a boat with a girl with ginger hair with grey eyes and a girl with long blonde hair and big green eyes. She also was wearing a headbands. “I bet a can surf this” Charlotte said before standing up on the boat only to fall back onto the chair. “Are you ok?” the ginger girl asked. Charlotte smiled “yeah, I’m good. Didn’t get the right footing. I’m Charlotte Diggory. But you can call me Char.”. The two other girls smile but Charlotte continue “so I know your Ginny Weasley. Ced is in sane year as your brothers. But what’s your name?”. The blonde smiles “I’m Delilah Dursley. It’s nice to meet you”. Charlotte smiles bigger “you two seem cool”. Before anything else could be said, the boats arrive at the castle.
Upon reaching the castle, Hagrid, this giant man, hands Charlotte and the rest of the first years over to an old lady that he called Professor McGonagall. Before the ceremony begins, Professor McGonagall briefly explains the four Houses the students will be sorted into and House Points. Slytherin house is filled with ambitious, cunning witches and wizards; Ravenclaw house is home to the most intelligent; Gryffindor houses only the brave; and Hufflepuff house is where the most fair and honest go. Points will be earned based on a student’s best performance, whereas points will be deducted for breaking the rules. Whichever House has the most points by the end of the school year wins the House Cup. Professor McGonagall then leads them into the Great Hall and takes them to the front where she places down a hat on a stool. The hall is full of four tables for each house and one big table at the front (behind the stool) For the staff.
