Mehkai sat in his calculus class trying to pay attention to what the teacher was saying, but he couldn't help but glance over at Moriah every once in a while. It had been a week since what happened at the fair, and neither one of them had addressed it, instead they ignored each other. 
He did feel bad for the way he treated her and for ruining her day though. That Sunday he was very stressed, but that didn't mean he should've taken it out on her. He knew he needed to apologize, and he was planning to after school.
" Can anybody tell me the sum or difference rule?" Ms. Jordan paused from writing on the board to ask the class. She was currently writing notes on the board for them to copy, since it was only the beginning of the year and she wanted them to obtain as much information as possible.
Moriah raised her hand and the teacher called on her before answering. " If f(x) equals u(x) plus or minus v(x), then f'(x) equals u'(x) plus or minus v'(x)"
" Good job! Im gonna write that on the board then give yall a minute to write all the notes down." Ms. jordan wrote the formula on the board before sitting back at her desk and setting a timer.
Moriahs ability to answer the problem without fault and as quick as she did, truly shocked Mehkai. He knew she was smart, but he would've never in a million years been able to answer that question off top of his head.
He took a minute to glance at the girl who was deeply concentrated on writing down the notes from the board, on her paper. He admired her side profile and work ethic, shifting his gaze from her face, to her paper, then back to her face.
Moriah was so pretty to Mehkai, and he often found himself staring at her. In his opinion, she looked better than most of the girls at school. 
During the 2 weeks before the event at the fair, the two had started hanging out more, even outside of when they hung out with Jarell and Iyanna. They had gotten alot closer, so close to the point that they were hanging out at each other's houses and falling asleep on FaceTime.
At first Mehkai only saw himself getting close to her to have sex with her, but now that he knew her he felt like they could actually be friends or something more. 
Sometimes, he even found himself getting jealous of Moriah talking to other boys. Even though he wasn't interested in a relationship, he didn't want her with anyone else. He wanted her to be his, but didn't want to be hers and someway somehow, he was gonna make that happen.
AFTER SCHOOL
" Yo! Lemme talk to you real quick." Mehkai yelled, holding his pocket as he ran in the direction of Moriahs car. Mehkai also had an abbreviated schedule, so him Moriah and Iyanna all got out at the same time.
This caused her to look up and squint at the boy when he finally made it to her. " The fuck you want?"
" Who shitted in your fruit loops." He scrunched up his face at her attitude.
" Please get the fuck out my face fore i smack the shit out you." She huffed, not in the mood for his childish antics.
" My bad." He apologized, holding his hands up defensively. " I came over here to apologize tho. I shouldn't have done allat shit at the fair. I was bein childish nd givin you attitude fa shit you ain do, so im sorry."
She took a second to scan his face, trying to make sure he was sincere before accepting his apology.
" I accept your apology. Dont let that shit happen again tho." She sighed, placing her hand on her hip.
