[Chapter 3: The baking disaster.]

"This is a mess!" I cried out.

Evan looks around. "I agree..." we both sighed.

"... Evan did you put a timer on the cookies?" I glared at him.

Evan froze. "Shit..." and that was the final straw!

"Wait Kath there's still some time-" we both turned around in horror at the sound of the doorbell.

"Charlotte's here already?" Evan put his hand on his hip.

I face-palmed. "I hate my life..." I get up to open the door.

"Don't we all hate our lives?" Evan commented as he prepared himself for a shit ton of cleaning.

"What do I even say to her?" I thought as I made my way to the front door.

Do I make a fool of myself and go "Sorry Charlotte! I was being a dumbass attempting to make cookies for you when I suddenly realized I couldn't bake even if my life depended on it?"

I open the door and see the most beautiful girl in the world standing in front of me. She wore a cute pink sweater and a few bows in her hair.

"H-hey Charlie... Nice outfit!" a compliment? Seriously? She probably already got like 100 compliments today considering how GORGEOUS she is.

She chuckled. "Thanks! I tried to do something new."

"Well it totally looks good on you!" I stopped dead in my tracks.

"You still have the keychain?" I titled my head.

Can this girl get any cuter than this?

"Uh... Yeah, I still keep it on me." she explains.

"That's so... Cute!" I smiled at her.

A moment of silence filled the air as Charlie avoids making eye contact.

Oh come on Katherine you made it awkward!

"Come inside!" I suggested.

She happily walked in, immediately spotting the kitchen.

"Jeez what happened in there?" she teased.

I quickly thought of a lie. "I was baking for a girl and I accidentally messed up." well it technically isn't a lie, just the vague version of what truly happened.

She looks me up and down. "I can tell..."

"Hmph, it's not my fault baking is so hard!" I said in my defense.

"I can help you!" she purposed.

She immediately put on an apron. "Evan get me some eggs."

Evan did as he was told. "Here."he put the eggs on the counter.

"Katherine can you please get the flour?" she requested.

I scanned the items in the kitchen. "Ah!" I grabbed the flour from the cabinet.

"Why wasn't the flour with all the other ingredients?" me and Evan slowly realized something.

"We forgot..." we both said in unison.

She sighed, and took the flour from me.

CHARLOTTE'S PERSPECTIVE

After 2 hours of having to bake with these morons, the cookies are finally in the oven!

"Whoever said baking was romantic was lying..." Katherine commented, laying on the floor in exhaustion.

"You kept getting in my way, dumbass!" I stated, sitting on the couch.

Evan was quietly texting his driver. "John you better get here quickly!" he muttered into the phone.

"Oh hush Evan you didn't even help!" Katherine pointed out, earning a death stare from Evan.

"You two kept telling me I did it wrong so I just gave up!" he pouted.

I sighed. "Stop fighting..." I mumbled, too burnt out to scold them.

We slowly looked at the oven when we heard the familiar "ding-ding" from the timer.

I get up to open it.

"Finally..." Katherine grunted as she closed her eyes.

Evan started tapping his foot against the floor, clearly getting impatient.

KATHERINE'S PERSPECTIVE

I stood up and went to the table, where sat a tray of cookies.

Those only reminded me of the slowest 2 hours of my life, which were also filled with moments of embarrassment and suffering.

Charlotte looked at her phone, her eyes widening. "I gotta go! Bye Kath." she ran to the front door, swiftly making her way outside.

Evan stared at the tray. "Well that was an absolute mess..."

I glared at him. "No shit Sherlock..." I held back tears as I sat down at the table.

I felt all that restraint go to waste as tears fell down my face. "My life sucks! I hate it, I hate it so much..."

Evan sighed as he patted my back. "Maybe it'll work out next time..." he placed his phone on the table and sat next to me.

I watched as he ate a cookie. "Putting skittles in these were so smart." he said, his words muffled by the food in his mouth.

I let out a dry laugh. "Yeah... I was scared they were gonna met and mess up the whole thing, but I guess it was a good thing they melted."

And that was the end of chapter 3!

Tbh I didn't expect to make 2 chapters in the span of one day. This is was draining to say the least and now I'm having writer's block ^^
