Luna pov
As I walked through the garden I saw Niki and Jungwon practicing. They were fighting. Well, practicing. They weren't really fighting. Even though I never experienced a real fight, I did used to train with my sisters. Father always hated the fact that he had no son to fight with him. Especially when Heeseung left the family. Heeseung had always felt like a son to him. When he left he treated me and my sisters differently. My sisters and I tried to convince him to let us train but he never allowed us to go with him.
So whenever he was out on a mission or just out in general, we would train with Heeseung's brother. He'd help us and show us how to fight. I'd lie if I told you I wasn't good with a knife.
"Luna, Join us!" Jungwon yelled at me as he waved me over. I could see Niki's shoulders drop as Jungwon said those words. "no, no thanks! I don't want to intrude." I said as I walked closer not wanting to piss Niki off even more. "good..." Niki said barely hard enough for me to hear. Jungwon looked at Niki confused before looking back at me. "Oh, come on! Heeseung said you can fight!" He tried ignoring the fact that Niki didn't want me to join.
"Fine, I'll try! But I'm not the fighter Heeseung made me out to be." Already trying to save myself some embarrassment. I sighed as Jungwon handed me a fake knife. "Oh, how wonderful," Niki said as he sat down next to us. I do feel comfortable with a knife in my hands but I also knew I wasn't willing to show them what I was really capable of. "Don't hurt yourself." Niki's smile was clearly fake. You could tell I annoyed him. I truly wonder why.
I know I don't belong here but they can at least try to be nice. Jungwon and I got in position, but before I was able to do something I was lying on the ground. Jungwon was standing above me pointing his knife at me. "Pfew... You're dead." He said while laughing. Niki was laughing with him, clapping his hands together in enjoyment. How funny...
"Sorry Luna," Jungwon held his hand out for me to grab, and pulled me up. "I can teach you if you want to learn how to fight." My cheeks got a bit red from the embarrassment. How could I let myself fall that quickly? I could have at least tried harder. I know I didn't want to show them my true strength but this almost looked fake. "YAH! Jungwon!" Heeseung shouted from the balcony. "We need you!" Jungwon threw his knife at Niki before walking off. "Don't kill each other when I'm not around." He yelled back at us before disappearing. Clearly noticing the awkward tension between us.
How wonderful he left me alone with the boy who probably hates me the most in here. Before I could look over at him he was already standing in front of me. I knew he was tall but by the way he was standing over me, I clearly didn't notice how tall. He was quite intimidating I have to admit. "I don't know why you're holding back." He said as he narrowed his eyes at me. He was really getting on my nerves. "But I can see right through you." His smirk made me shiver. I felt really exposed every time he was around. "Jungwon and Mae may not be able to see through you like I do, but if you hurt them." He sounded like he was going to threaten me. "I'll make sure it's the last thing you do." Oh, he was certainly threatening me. He put the knives in my hands harshly before walking off. Showing me he wasn't scared of me, even with weapons in my hand.
I know Niki is one of the best assassins out there, so the fact that he put the knives in my hands this way showed me how highly he was thinking of himself. Rightfully so if I were to believe the stories. But someone already almost killed him so he must have a weakness.
I needed to get my father here as quickly as possible to make everything right. I don't know if I could handle being here any longer.
Mae pov
"Could you stop giving that girl such a hard time?" I pushed Niki as he walked around the corner of the training field. I heard them talking and I wondered where he got his suspicions from. Niki looked at me as he got angry. "She's up to something. I'm just trying to protect you." He said while looking around. Making sure Luna didn't hear him. I looked at him confused. I used to think I was good at reading people, but now that both Sunghoon and Niki are showing me that they don't trust the girl I'm rethinking that. She didn't do anything suspicious? At least not that I noticed. She brought Mr Park to us, which I see as a peace offering.
