Maura's Point Of View:
Three months later:I am six months along, and Jane is coming home today. Jane's plane is supposed to come in at noon. I woke up at six o'clock in the morning like usual. I walked into Sophia's room and saw her peacefully sleeping. I sat on the edge of her bed.
"Sophia sweetie, it's time to get up." I said in a soothing tone. She started to turn on her side and I repeated myself.
"But mommy, I'm tired." She said putting the covers over her head.
"Okay five more minutes. I will start your breakfast." I said leaving my five year old's room and walking into the kitchen. I took out the frying pan, and made up the pancake mix. About five minutes later, Sophia's pancakes where ready. I walked back into her bedroom, and started to wake her up.
"Come on Sophia you need to get ready for school and your breakfast is getting cold." She slowly sat up, and followed me into the kitchen. I poured her a glass of juice, and she started eating her breakfast. I was sitting across from Sophia at the table when Angela walked in.
"Good morning Nona!" Sophia said
"Good morning sweetie. Good morning Maura."
"Morning Angela."
"I can take Sophia to school today for you." Angela said
"Okay thank you."
"Mommy, when is mamma coming home?" Sophia asked
"Soon baby." I said not telling her Jane is coming home today. The only reason why I am not telling her, is because I want her to be surprised and because if she knows then she won't want to go to school.I spent most the day cleaning the house. Before I knew it, it was eleven o'clock, so I got myself ready to get Jane. I put on a t-shirt that said "army baby on the way." over my baby bump, and skinny jeans. I put on my black flats, leather jacket and headed to the airport. When I got to the airport, I saw soldier after soldier get off the plane. Then I saw long black crazy hair in the crowd.
"Jane!" I yelled and I saw the brown eye connect with me. I ran up to her and jumped in her arms.
"You're back! You're back!" I said as I cried into her shoulder.
"I'm back for good." She whispered. We walked out of the airport hand in hand. When we got to the car, Jane put her bag in the trunk and pulled me into a passionate kiss. We pulled back and rested foreheads.
"Are you trying to tell me, that we are going to have a baby boy?" Jane asked as she placed her hand on my stomach.
"Yes I am." I replied looking down at the blue letters on my shirt. Jane got on the driver seat, and started to drive off to the house. First we where passing through the inter section, then the next a car ran right into us, then...it all went blank.
