Getting ready for the day was harder with the injured hand than Prem expected. The throbbing pain appeared every time he moved his arm and he ended up asking his grandmother for help. He felt like a little child again.

"Is that all my baby Prem needs?" The old woman teased him after she helped Prem with his pants and shirt. Prem groaned at his grandmother's behaviour.

"That's all grandma, thank you." He managed not to sound mean. He quickly picked up his bag and hurried out of the house while his grandmother's laughter echoed.

"Good morning. Prem."

The sudden greeting startled him. Searching with his eyes around the area, he spotted his friend leaning against the car, waiting across the street.

"Morning, P'Ma. What are you doing here?" Prem asked. His stomach tightened as he wasn't sure if he wanted to hear the answer.

"I came to pick you up. You can't drive a scooter with that hand." The older male pointed at the bandage. Prem nodded lightly.

"I was planning to go by bus." He tried to explain. Changma pushed himself away from the car and opened the door for him.

"I can't let my injured friend travel by public transport when I can help," Changma said. Prem hesitated. He didn't want to offend his friend and boss, but he wasn't comfortable. In the end, he moved towards the car.

"Thank you, P'Ma. But you didn't have to trouble yourself." Prem smiled at him as he climbed into the seat.

"Nonsense. I am happy to be here for you." Changma replied, closing the door. Prem watched his friend run around the vehicle. He had a wide smile, and Prem hoped the twinkle in his eyes didn't confirm his grandmother's statement.
