"no I know that— but you can't blame me for being scared knowing you were once in love her so deeply, heck she's the reason why you shunned the thought of commitment for years, Kam. What do I have against something like that?" Paige answers her 
 'she's not you' Kameron wanted to respond, she could feel the words dancing on the tip of her tongue but for some reason they continued to hang on there refusing to fall out her mouth
 "Paige, she never even loved me back— she made me build up walls not because of the love I had for her but because of the sheer embarrassment I felt because of her" Kameron said instead 
 "but what if she does?" 
 Kameron looks at Paige, brows inching closer together "what?" 
 "what if tomorrow, she comes up to you and confesses that she loves you? would things be different between us?" the blonde hooper bravely asked despite the strong beating in her chest telling her not to 
 Kameron stood up, running her hands through her brown locks before turning to face the girl sat on her couch— their eyes locking with one another in an instant "why are you suddenly asking all these questions, Paige? what difference is this going to make?" 
 "why can't you just answer the question? Kameron come on tell me" Paige responds standing up as well, nearing Kameron who felt small in front of her once again "If Lacy said she felt the same for you, would I continue to have any space in your world? would I even continue to exist in your world?" 
 "Paige.."
 "just answer me!"
 "yes! of course! god what are you- why are you even asking me that? you will forever have space in my life, Paige— from here on out, till the end of fucking time, you have carved your own existence in my life that no matter what I do it will always be there!" Kameron snaps, her voice unwavering as she looked into Paige's ocean eyes 
"you have successfully hallowed out a piece of my heart and made it yours ever since I got to truly know you— so stop questioning my devotion to you, stop questioning the feelings I have for you because it's there and it will always be there— I don't care about Lacy, I don't love Lacy because I only love-" Kameron stopped herself 
 for the second time that night, her words refused to let go of the ends of her tongue as her confession remained tucked away in her mouth and in her mind 
 "Come here" Paige breaks through the silence, she reaches out to Kameron enveloping the girl inside the safety of her arms 
 no more words for exchanged after that as the two girls remained holding one another for the rest of the night 
 the weight of Kameron's slip up hanging over them throughout the evening, never leaving both their minds.


"All the way from Storrs, Connecticut- UCONN HUSKIES!" I felt like I was dreaming, none of it felt real until I felt myself get hoisted up on someone's shoulders and was able to get a full view of all my teammates screaming, crying, cheering and jumping together 
I looked down seeing Jackson screaming up at me as he held me securely on his shoulder with his right arm "Let's fucking go! that's what I'm talking about! March Madness here we come baby!" he yelled
