His POV
It was 1 o'clock at night, and he found himself restless and unable to sleep. The house felt eerily quiet with his family away on vacation. Seeking some fresh air, he decided to take a walk in the nearby park. The night was still and the park was deserted, offering him a sense of peace.
As he walked, he noticed a figure slumped on a bench. Curiosity peaked, he approached cautiously, and his heart skipped a beat when he saw an unknown girl fainted on the bench. She looked vulnerable and out of place in the deserted park. Concern washed over him,he tried to wake her up not getting any response, he quickly tried to call for help. However, given the late hour, no one was available.
He knew he couldn't leave her alone in the park. The city was unforgiving, especially at this time of night. Determined to help, he gently lifted the girl into his arms, carrying her bridal style back to his house. Her slight weight and the chill of the night made him more aware of her fragile state.
Once home, he carefully laid her down in his sister's room, covering her with a warm blanket. The girl remained unconscious, her breathing shallow but steady. He decided to call a doctor first thing in the morning. For now, he sat by her side in a chair next to the bed, keeping watch in case she woke up and needed anything.
The night seemed to stretch on as he sat there, his mind racing with questions about who she was and what had happened to her. He couldn't shake the feeling of responsibility that had settled over him. As he watched over the sleeping girl, he hoped that come morning, answers would emerge and she would be alright.
Her POV
As her eyes fluttered open, confused, she struggled to make sense of her unfamiliar surroundings. Panic surged through her as she remembered the events of the previous night: the man who had tried to hurt her, her frantic escape, and finally, fainting on a park bench.
Her heart raced as she saw a man sleeping in a chair nearby. Fear gripped her, and she immediately thought he might be connected to the one who had chased her. Perhaps he had found her and brought her here. The terror of being finally captured made her instinctively try to get up, but the sudden movement woke him.
"Hey, it's okay," he said softly, his voice gentle but firm. "I'm not going to hurt you. You fainted in the park last night, and I brought you here to make sure you're safe."
Her mind whirled with confusion and fear. She tried to move away, her eyes moving around the unfamiliar room, searching for an escape. As he tried to move towards her. "Please, just stay back," she said, her voice trembling. "Who are you? Why I am here?" She asked
The man took a step back, raising his hands in a non-threatening gesture. "I understand you're scared. My name is Abhishek. I live in this society and found you unconscious on a bench in the park and didn't want to leave you there alone. This is my family's house. You're safe here, I promise."
His words were calming, but her heart still pounded in her chest. "Why... why did you help me?" she asked, her voice barely above a whisper, filled with both suspicion and hope.
"I thought it was the right thing to do," he replied simply. "You were unconscious, I couldn't just leave you there. I'm going to call a doctor to check on you. Is that okay?"
She shook her head, her eyes wide with fear. "No, please, no doctor. I don't need one. I just... I just need to leave."
He looked concerned but to comfort her "Alright, no doctor," he said gently. "But you need to rest.
"I don't need to rest, I need to leave this city" she said urgently, trying to get up again. "I need to leave. Now."
As he tried to stop her, she ran towards the main door, her mind focused solely on escaping the city before that man found her again.
He ran after her, trying to stop her. But she fell in the middle of the hall, still exhausted from running the whole day before and the traumatic events she had endured. She sat there for a minute, trying to lift herself, but her body refused to cooperate.
Seeing her condition, he approached her cautiously. "Why are you so stubborn??he questioned sternly
"You need rest. Please, stop running away." he spoke again
She looked up at him helplessly, her strength gone. Tears welled up in her eyes as the reality of her situation sank in. He extended a hand, helping her stand up. Gently, he guided her back to the room and helped her lay down again.
"Just rest for a while," he said softly. "I promise you're safe here."
With no energy left to argue, she nodded slightly, closing her eyes as exhaustion overtook her. For the first time in what felt like forever, she allowed herself to hope that maybe, just maybe, she could trust this stranger.
It was 12 o'clock in the afternoon when he woke her up again. A doctor was at her side, checking her condition. The doctor assured him that everything was alright, but she just needed rest as she looked very tired. After the doctor left, he went straight to the kitchen and brought her a tray full of food.
"Here, you need to eat," he said gently, placing the tray on her lap. "You need to get healthy."
She looked at the food, then at him, her expression a mix of gratitude and confusion. "Why are you helping me so much?" she asked quietly, still unable to fully grasp his kindness.
Understanding her situation, he sat down beside her. "I know you're scared and have been through a lot. But I promise, I'm just trying to help. And I won't let you go until you're alright."
She managed a small smile, touched by his words. Despite her initial fear and suspicion, she couldn't deny the sense of safety his presence provided.
"Thank you," she whispered, taking a small bite of the food he had brought.
As she ate, she couldn't help but wonder why this stranger was being so kind to her. In a world that had shown her so much cruelty, his compassion was a rare and precious gift. The warmth of his care slowly started to melt the ice of her fear, making her believe that maybe, just maybe, she had found a safe haven in the midst of her chaos.
