The Best Noble

Moon stands near the door, her arms crossed as she huffs angrily. Of all classes, her worst class ever is nobility and royalty classes. The former because her teacher is so hard and the latter because she has to be with Sun alone, and the thought of him beside her is killing. Sophie is already chattering to Alex, the son of one of her father's chiefs lo loudly. She wished she had Sophie's charm and out going nature.

The Royals barged into the class like they owned the world. Sun had picked Nora in the ball and the two of them had had a lovely kiss, she wasn't sure, no one knew. But she had been the first girl to receive a letter from the person she danced with, Nora was the second then after that, other girls began receiving letters. Since that day, Nora had always been intentionally barging into her, tripping her and making snide comments often saying that maybe Moon had forged the letter herself, of course, Moon did not care.

Dear Strong,

It is me from the ball, ever since I se my eyes on you, I've been having sleepless nights, my days and nights have been filled with thoughts of you, I can't get you out of my mind, whenever I feel weak, remembering you and our dance together fills me with renewed strength. Please, reply to my letter quickly, I miss you a lot.

Love, Peace

It was immature, rough but it was all said in love, she scanned all the faces in the nobility class, she couldn't wait to meet him in real life, but she suspected it was either Frost or some boy from her wrestling class. "Snap out of it, witch! Don't steal our minds", Nora snapped her fingers in front of Moon smirking lightly. "Enjoy some flowers, evil witch, they will cleanse your spirit", Flora began to choke Moon in a tangle of flower, suddenly, from nowhere, Nora and her cohorts got drenched with water and Sophie burst out laughing. It was Sophie, se had used her water power to drench them.

"You are not allowed to use magic in class", Nora said while Sun dried all of them up.

"And your sister is not allowed to grow flowers in a nobility class, are you guys just too dumb to understand the simple rules of the school or are you too important to even take them and read", Sophie raised her neck up and stared at Nora full-on in the eyes, Moon smiled wickedly and joined them, now this was drama.

The nobility teacher, Mistress Sayuri walked inside gracefully. She was the noble head of the women and also Leo's mother. Everyone grew quiet and Nora quickly stood upright, smiling sweetly to the mistress. "What is with the smiles, Lady Nora", she asked and patted her son's shoulder gently, Leo smiled stiffly.

"I feel so prepared today, Mistress, maybe we could take a test on who best knows the history of Thistle", Nora said gently and sweet tongued, the other students mumbled in agreement and Moon groaned in agony, she couldn't do this, she was going to fail, she hadn't studied the theory part of the class in the last weeks.

But she could see Sophie also smiling ruefully, "Yes, we're all very prepared" Sophie was glaring at Nora, so this was a competition between Nora and Sophie. Good!

"Fine, since you all are so eager to take a test, why don't we start then?", she clapped her hands twice and the chairs and tables which had been flying overhead landed on the ground with a huge thud. Moon sat down on a chair and desk, expecting Sophie to come sit with her but Sophie went to sit at the front beside Nora, a truce had been declared. Sun came to sit beside her, Moon shifted away from him as far as she could, she did not want to fall for his vile charms.

"So, let us begin", Mistress Sayuri clapped twice and an ink and paper appeared in front of them. She began to list out the questions, thank god to Sophie who usually liked to study aloud, something Moon hated but tolerated because Sophie was her sister from a different mother. As Moon began to scribble away furiously, she felt a jab at her side but she chose to ignore it. She felt the jab again and turned to Sun all the while checking that Mistress Sayuri had not noticed their exchange.

"What?", Moon whispered, earning an eyebrow raise from Leo, who was behind her. Sun pointed to his own paper, he had not written a word. She was dumbfounded, she couldn't believe that Sun was this dumb, and suddenly, it began to dawn on her. That was why he had never made it to Top 20, that was why he usually moved with the Royals, to keep his head. She could understand him now, beneath his charming and charismatic exterior, he was scared and insecure most of the time, because he was going to be a king.

Moon looked at him sympathetically and switched her almost done paper with his, and she began to scribble furiously away, until finally the time was up and Mistress Sayuri and Leo descended on them like hawks to collect the papers. It was a double period, so Mistress Sayuri was going to mark it now and give them their results, Moon could still see Nora and Sophie hissing at each other.

"Thank you for helping me in the test", his voice nearly sent her flying, she hadn't heard him coming.

"You are welcome, do not sneak up on me like that and that is the last time I'd ever do such for you, I'm not that nice", Moon said dismissively hoping he'd take the hint, but he did not.

"I know you think I'm dumb", he began but Moon was in no mood for the pitying part.

"You think you're dumb, you are not dumb, you are simply lazy, too lazy to read, too lazy to listen, always getting distracted in class by all your friends, did you know how many times I've had to cover for you in wrestling class, it is only a matter of time before master notices and sends you from his class, the only place where I see you do well is in nobility practical and you can't even do well in the theoretical, you are not dumb, you are simply lazy", Moon rolled her eyes at him spitting out venom and thinking he would look sad and leave her side.

"Would you tutor me?", Moon stared at him like he had just grown twenty more heads, he really was dumb like he said.

"You are so funny, Sun, we never talk unless in wrestling class, and the only reason we are talking now is because Nora is having a staring contest with Sophie, Justin and Leo are talking and Ellie and Flora are helping Mistress Sayuri, it is only if you want Nora to kill me", Moon looked at him but he only looked at her amusingly.

"I thought you were not scared of Nora", he smiled menacingly, was he really manipulating her. "Looks like it is a mutual fear of each other that you and Nora have, she will be so happy to know that", Sun looked at her deep in her eyes and flicker of recognition clicked into her senses, she had seen those pools of gold before. Those pools that left her breathless and drowning within their depths.

"I am not scared of Nora", Moon finally managed to breathe, quickly turning her face away from him. She could feel herself flush hot, why was he making her feel so nervous and funny? "Fine, I will tutor you, we meet in the library, the west wing. Tonight after school hours, don't be late", Moon quickly said.

"Are we sneaking into the library?", Sun gave the response she was hoping for, now he would back off. A Good prince sneaking around after school hours, very bad.

"What? Are you scared that your image would be tainted?", it was Moon's turn to smile menacingly.

"No, just intrigued", she could never predict him.

Mistress Sayuri's voice woke her up from her thoughts. "I am through grading your works and you all di wonderfully well but the five students who made me really proud are: Flora, Moon, Nora, Sophie and Sun", the class erupted in a cloud of applause but Moon could see that she was not very pleased, Leo was not part of the five students. "Leo, after this class, see me in my office", she pointed at Leo who had his head bowed on his desk.

"But in everything there is always a best", Mistress Sayuri paused. "The best student in this test was Lady Sophie Assistant to Crown Princess Moon of Evil Kingdom", everyone applauded heartily while Sophie jumped up making funny faces at Nora whose face was downcast.

"You think you are the best, but you are not. I warned that I would always beat you every time, you may be from the kingdom of Good, but it is absent in your character and everything you do, Good show excellence and should never be runners-up at anything", Sophie's voice was ladden with venom but Nora smirked.

The bell rung and Moon packed her things to proceed to the next class. "No matter what you do, or whatever grade you have, U will be a queen and you will always be an assistant", Nora smirked and walked off.

It took all of Moon's strength to keep Sophie from running after her.
