Special Chapter
Phoenix
"BABE, where do I have to put this?" I asked my wife, holding the breatds.
Nag-aayos kami ng gamit para makapag-picnic. Ngayon lang ang free time namin after our long duty. We missed having time together with our kids. I know, nagtatampo na sila dahil palagi kaming busy kaya we decided to surprise them.
Hindi pa nila alam ang plans namin. They are still asleep kaya kami palang ang nag-aayos. We woke up at 3AM just to prepare. I am actually excited and damn happy.
We are doing the things that Darlene and I did when we were still a teen. Kung dati kaming dalawa lang, now we're seven.
"Ah, diyan mo muna ilagay sa basket. Ayusin mo, ha!" May pagbabanta sa tono niya. "At ito, hiwalay mo. Ayaw ni Denise kumain kapag walang balot na tissue ang tinapay." She chuckled.
Ginawa ko ang sinabi niya.
"Hindi ka naman maarte, right?" I said, raising a brow. "Saan kaya nagmana ang little girl natin?" I am so confused.
As the time goes, palala nang palala ang pagiging maarte ng anak ko. But I love it though, she's cute too. Hinahabaan lang talaga ng mga anak naming lalaki ang pasenya when it comes to their little sister.
"Hoy, hindi ako maarte, ha! Baka ikaw!" Ngumisi siya at binaba 'yong ginagawa niya. She's making a pancake for our kids.
"What? Ako? Hindi ako ganoon. Baka may part lang talaga na na ganoon ka, love." I teased.
"Excuse me, Velasquez, hindi ako maarte! Remember, lahat kaya kong hawakan! Palakas, ipis, ahas... at kahit nga 'yang sa 'yo ay kong hawakan," she gave me tma teasing look, smirking as her eyes went down.
"Darlene!" My ears heated.
We've been married for damn years and this kind of jokes from her... hindi ko pa rin kaya. It feels like... hindi ang Darlene ko ang kausap ko. Parang hindi siya! I can't take any dirty jokes from her.
My Darlene's innocence is really gone. I am sad.
"Babe, you're not innocent anymore." I made a face, still can't forget her joke.
"Ikaw kaya ang nag-alis," sagot niya, natatawa na naman. "Ang dami mong tinuro sa akin."
Alam ko, I actually love that too, but sometimes... I'm missing her innocence.
Bumalik siya sa ginagawa. Lumapit naman ako para yakapin siya. She opened the stove, starting to cook the pancake. Nilapit ko ang ilong sa leeg niya. I could smell her perfume. It's addicting. Ah, I forgot, her smell became my addiction.
"Ayan ka na naman, kapag itong pancake nasunog," she said when I started to give her a kiss.
"Hinahalikan lang naman kita..." I sniffed her smell.
"Kaya nga, kung saan saan napupunta ang halik mo," she chuckled slyly.
Natawa ako. Really?
"Hmm, saan saan ba?" I asked, still kissing her.
