"So you call me by my real name?" asked the Uchiha without using Madara's voice. "Otherwise you never say it."
"Because I also avoid talking to you at all." came Shika's short answer, and she had really avoided the conversations. On the one hand so as not to reveal his identity, and on the other hand because she didn't want to do anything for him and his machinations.
"Why don't you tell anyone who I am?" asked Obito curiously, who was sitting on her table and had pulled up one leg. He leaned his back against the wall while he had propped his head up.
It looked almost like Shika did back then, when she sat in front of the slope and half-listened to the conversations. "Why should I?" asked Shika, who had remained lying on the bed. "I wouldn't get anything out of it."
An amusing laugh could be heard. To Shika, Obito sounded as if he himself had been some character. Knowing him, he would be a bit too stupid to be able to carry out such a plan. He had always been a bit naive as a boy. Too friendly for an Uchiha.
Shika remembered very well that Obito had said he would become Hokage. A Hokage would never act like he was doing now. For the Nara, that meant that someone else was behind everything. And the only person that came to mind was Zetsu, who had always been at Obito's side from the beginning.
"You could ruin my plan, the eternal Tsukuyomi." said Obito, relatively sure of his plan. "Your tactics have always been good, Shika. I admit that I felt some guilt back then during the mission for not helping you. But the way I see you now, you always had a strategy to counter."
Wow, Obito had improved, or Zetsu had told him so. The corners of Nara's mouth twisted slightly when this thought occurred to her. "The eternal Tsukuyomi will not give you what you hope for, Obito. No one can be brought back." Shika said now, but did not reveal to him the Edo Tensei that Orochimaru mastered. Obito would do anything to get his beloved Rin back.
"But getting involved is not in my interest right now."
Obito laughed again briefly. "You don't seem to have changed much." came from his lips, while they twisted into a grin under the mask. "You're still as lazy as ever."
Shika wouldn't exactly say that now, but whatever. In her opinion, Obito should think that she would do nothing against this plan. Actually, Shika gradually built up a tactic with the information she received.
The first step for her shogi game was to get to know the members of the organization. Character as well as skills. Shika had thought up a shogi figure for each member and divided them up.
Her opponent was not Obito, however, but Zetsu. The king of the other board, who had clearly used Obito as a pawn. Just like all the members. Only all of them would fall from his side.
On Shika's side of the board, there were three other members that she would use against him. Itachi, who went his own way anyway, as he certainly knew Obito's false identity as Madara. Konan, who would never sacrifice Shika anyway, and Nagato, who had been too important to her.
Everyone else would fall one after the other. Even Obito, who trusted Zetsu far too much. But Shika asked herself who else was behind his figures? Madara himself, who was actually dead? Or was it someone who had not yet appeared.
"The eternal Tsukuyomi will only come into being when all the Bijuu have been extracted, as far as I know.", Shika said neutrally, while she glanced slightly at Obito. "Not quite. First the god tree will emerge, which only appears when the Juubi has fully developed." came the answer back, which was enough for Shika.
Obito didn't know, but he had given her exactly the answer she needed. It had been very good to read all of Orochimaru's books. The Queen on Zetsu's playing field could now be clearly identified. The only connection to the god tree, which many thought was a myth, was Kaguya Otsusuki.
