M A H I R
The story Reyan has told us is insane. I feel like a hammer just hit me right on my head because it fucking hurts right now. The ache in my chest almost seems to explode. Adrenaline rushed through me as I drive the car rashly across the streets of Jaipur, not caring that I had broken god knows how many traffic rules in just half an hour.
My knuckles turns white around the steering wheel as I pressed the accelerator, driving like a mad person. The fear clenching around my chest is killing me. While my hand grip the steering wheel, the other one dials Shaina's number again and this time she picks up.
Her voice came out hoarse as if I had just woken her up from her sleep. "Mahir bhai-is everything alright?"
"Shaina, text me Veronica's address. Now." I yelled keeping my eyes on the road increasing the speed limit. She immediately hung up and seconds later my phone ping with a message. Shaina texted me Veronica's address. It's just a ten minutes drive from here.
I pressed my feet against the accelerator as a horrible feeling stirs inside me as I imagine the worse possible thing that can happen. If I hadn't left her there she wouldn't be danger.
Please be okay
I tried to take deep breaths to control the fear building up inside me. My hand is shaking when I rake my fingers through my hair, my eyes squeezing shut to stop the fear from consuming me. I needed to be in my right mind to find her.
The police are useless. All they did was stall me from actually finding her. I can't wait any longer. I need to find her before something worse happen.
I pulled the car infront of Veronica house and caught few men guarding the place. As I step out of my car, two men stopped me from walking inside the house.
"Miss Oberoi is not expecting any visitors."
I scoffed, "I'm not here to visit."
I walk past them despite their efforts to stop me. I banged the door loudly waiting for the door to open. If I find out if she's somehow involved in this then I won't be able to forgive myself.
"Sir, you need to leave or we have to call the police." The man with the English accent threatened.
My jaw clenched, "Go ahead."
Just then the door opened revealing Veronica with a bright smile on her face. She doesn't look surprised to see me as if she has expected I would come here.
"Mr Walker, he's my special guest never stop him from coming here, do you understand?" She said looking at the man who was holding my arm. Both the men nodded and left.
"Mahir Raisinghani in my house? What did I do to owe this pleasure?" She batted her eye lashes before walking inside her house.
I gritted my teeth silently following her inside. She sat on the couch facing me with a big smile.
