" TAEHYUNG ," Donghyuk exclaimed, He placed his hands gently on Taehyung’s cheeks, his eyes scanning his face as if to confirm the reality of his presence.
"It’s been six years. Look at you—you’ve really grown up."Taehyung felt a rush of warmth at Donghyuk’s affectionate greeting. He hugged him silently, the years of absence melting away in the embrace. Donghyuk held him tightly, struggling to find the words to express his emotions.
"I’ve missed you," Donghyuk whispered, his voice tinged with the pain of the past years. He pulled back slightly, his hands still on Taehyung’s shoulders. "It’s hard to believe you’re here."
Taehyung nodded, unable to find the right words to respond. The silence was filled with unspoken emotions , Donghyuk’s eyes grew misty, and he seemed on the verge of saying something important, but he hesitated.
Jungkook, sensing the moment’s tension, stepped forward. "Uncle, he knows," he said softly and glanced over Taehyung. "Taehyung knows about Father's death."
Donghyuk’s eyes widened in shock. "How?" he asked, his voice barely above a whisper. He turned to Taehyung, searching his face for answers.
Taehyung took a deep breath, steadying himself. "Mr. Park told me," he explained. "That’s why I came here."
Donghyuk’s expression softened with understanding. He nodded slowly, processing the information. "I see," he said, his voice heavy with emotion. "I’m sorry you had to find out that way."
Taehyung don't know what to say he stays silently, Donghyuk's eyes glistening with unshed tears. He took Taehyung by the arm and led him to the couch. "Come, sit," he said, his voice gentle . "We have a lot to talk about."
"I’m sorry I couldn’t tell you myself," Donghyuk began, his voice filled with regret. "It was a difficult time for all of us. Jungkook request me not to tell this to you, he said you will be more worried about your father and not concentrate on your studies"
Taehyung placed a comforting hand on Donghyuk’s arm. "I understand uncle," he said softly.
Jungkook remained standing, watching the interaction with a thoughtful expression. "We’ve all had to deal with this in our own way," he added, his voice steady. "But now, we can face it together."
Donghyuk nodded, his eyes meeting Jungkook’s. "Yes, together," he echoed, a hint of a smile tugging at his lips.
---
The warm reunion on the couch was short-lived as Donghyuk rose, his expression shifting to one of purpose and determination. He turned to Taehyung, his eyes reflecting a mix of pride and urgency.
"Taehyung," Donghyuk said, his voice steady, "there’s something important I need to show you. Come with me."
Taehyung felt a surge of curiosity mixed with apprehension. He glanced at Jungkook, who gave him a reassuring nod, before following Donghyuk out of the room and down a series of hallways. They descended a narrow staircase that led to the basement.
The basement was vast, far larger, It was dimly lit, with shadows dancing across the walls. As they entered, Donghyuk’s presence seemed to send a fear to the mens standing there . He motioned the group of men gathered at the far end of the room.
"Everyone, assemble!" Donghyuk’s voice echoed through the basement.
The men moved quickly and efficiently, forming a disciplined line in front of Donghyuk and Taehyung. There was an air of anticipation, as if they were all waiting for some announcement.
Donghyuk stepped forward, his voice carrying the weight of authority and emotion. "We have all suffered after a great loss," he began. "Kim Soohyun, my brother, the great man who led us, has passed away. He is a light who guided us through the darkest times."
A murmur of agreement rippled through the assembled men. Taehyung felt a knot tighten in his stomach, the weight of Donghyuk’s words pressing down on him.
Donghyuk continued, his voice rising with conviction, "but today we didn't have the light with us . He said and being silent for a second and continued his speech DON'T WORRY EVERYONE , TODAY, WE WELCOME OUR NEW LIGHT THAT WILL GUIDE US FORWARD TO SUCCESS."
Donghyuk turned to Taehyung, his eyes shining with pride. "KIM TAEHYUNG," he announced,
"THE SON OF KIM SOOHYUN, WILL BE OUR NEW LEADER!"The room erupted into cheers, the sound of the men’s voices mingling with the deafening blasts of gunfire as they shot their guns into the air in a show of respect and celebration. Taehyung stood frozen, shocked by his speech. He had not expected this, had not prepared for the overwhelming responsibility suddenly thrust upon him.
Donghyuk reached out, taking Taehyung’s hand and lifting it high. "OUR NEW MAFIA BOSS," he declared, his voice filled with unwavering confidence. "KIM TAEHYUNG!"
"KIM TAEHYUNG! "KIM TAEHYUNG! " The men continued to cheer , their faces alight with enthusiasm and hope. Taehyung looked around, trying to process whats happening there . The reality of his new role settled heavily on his shoulders, a mixture of fear and determination swirling within him.
Donghyuk leaned in, his voice gentle yet firm. "You are our future, Taehyung," he said. "We believe in you."
---
The basement still echoed with the cheers and gunshots from the men welcoming their new boss.
Donghyuk led Taehyung into a small, private room. The door closed behind them with a soft click, shutting out the rest of the world.Taehyung turned to Donghyuk, his eyes blazing with confusion and anger. "Why did you do this uncle ?" he demanded, his voice louder than he intended. "Why did you make me the leader without even asking me?"
Donghyuk raised his hands, a gesture of peace and calm. "Taehyung, please, calm down," he said softly. He reached into his jacket and pulled out an envelope, its edges worn with age. "This is from your father."
Taehyung stared at the letter, his breath catching in his throat. With trembling hands, he took the envelope and opened it, revealing a handwritten letter. As he read, tears began to form in his eyes.
"Taehyung," the letter began, "my son i know you will be doing great. I don't know you would read this but if you did dad wish to see you as a MAFIA BOSS WHO WILL LEAD THE TEAM WELL. Taehyung's hands shook, and he could barely hold back his tears. "M-Mafia...me?" he stammered, his voice breaking. "B-But... I-
Donghyuk cut of Taehyung and stepped forward and placed a comforting hand on Taehyung's shoulder.
