Pregnancy is just one long wait. Waiting a long time. I finished my stretches that I do every day that supposedly help when it comes to going into labor then go back upstairs to shower.
I go back downstairs when I am done so I can go on a walk to try to get these babies out. My back hurts, my feet are swollen, I am just overall very uncomfortable, I cannot even enjoy laying down anymore, so I want to get them out as soon as possible.
"Theo!" I call out for the main guard that goes with me almost everywhere. He walks into the foyer from the hallway. Matteo is in his office so I don't want to bother him.
"Yes ma'am?" he asks as he walks in.
"I am going on a walk around the estate, would you please accompany me?" I asked.
"Of course, ma'am," he says, then follows me out of the house. I start my walk, going around the house, around the backyard, down the path that leads to the rest of the buildings.
I walk past the greenhouse, the sunroom, the medical building, everything, then did another lap around those, then walked all the way back to the house.
By the end of it, I was tired, it was hot but I am trying to give birth already.
Once I get back home, Matteo is walking into the foyer, "Where were you?" he asks me, sounding worried.
"I went on a walk," I tell him as Theo walks away and I walk towards the kitchen to get a carrot.
"I could have gone with you, sweetheart," he says, walking up to me and kissing my forehead.
I nod, "You were working though, and I just want to try to speed up this process," I say, gesturing to my stomach. My very full, very looks like there are twins in there stomach.
He laughs, wrapping his arms around me, "I love going on walks with you," he says, kissing my neck.
"I will make sure to invite you next time," I tell him, making him smile. I poke his dimple and he laughs, swaying me back and forth.
I grab Bean and we head to the sunroom, where we start to paint. We grab two canvases and just go at it, absolutely anything in my mind goes onto that blank canvas.
When we finish, we start playing around and painting random things on my bare belly. It is covered in colorful paint, random patterns, random words. It looks beautiful.
Matteo and I are both laughing as he leans down to kiss my belly. We're listening to music, talking and laughing as we paint together.•••••
"So, how are you feeling today?" Bella asks me, the woman Zoe is making me do an interview with. It is for a podcast I think, so it is more of friendly conversation into a microphone.
I smile at her, "I feel great, honestly, and you?" I ask her.
"I am feeling amazing, now I want to ask, you are at the end of your pregnancy, are you going to reveal the gender of your baby or the name you and Matteo have chosen anytime soon?" she asks me, with a smile.
I laugh, as I had predicted these questions, "We actually talked about this like yesterday and we decided that the only thing we want to reveal soon is that it is twins," I begin, making her gasp, "But names and genders not yet." I say with a giggle.
"Congratulations!" she says, smiling wide, so I thank her, "So how was this pregnancy? Was it difficult, did it fly by?" she asks curiously.
"It was difficult, I was sick most of the time and I found out I was pregnant at only four weeks because of it, so my first ultrasound, I didn't even know it was twins because of how early it was. But it did fly by, definitely." I respond to her, nodding.
She nods as I speak and I can see more questions forming as I do. "And how did you find out?" she asks me, making me smile.
"I had been feeling dizzy for a few days so I went to the doctor because a few months ago," I started, then corrected myself, "Well, around a year ago now I think or more, I had very low iron so I thought my iron levels were getting low again and I went in and he goes, 'No, they're normal, but you are pregnant'." I say the last part in a silly way and she laughs.
We make a few jokes together, then we continue, "So, this one, you don't have to answer it, but it is something I think people might be curious about, so, are you going to be a stay at home mother?" she asks me.
"Yes I am. I have been a stay at home wife, fiancée even, right when we got engaged, and it was something that we just agreed on, and what is best for us," I put it simply, not feeling the need to fully explain myself if I really didn't want to.
She nods, "And that is perfectly fine, what matters is what works for you guys," she says, agreeing with me. "Did you expect like the media frenzy when you guys started dating?" she asks me.
I shake my head right away, "When we started dating, I didn't even know who he was. I had just moved back to Italy recently, and I knew he has some sort of money kind of because of the way he acted, but I didn't know he was like a CEO or did all these other things until like almost a month into it when someone else told me in front of him and he acted so casual about it." I say, laughing at the last part. I remember that day like it was freaking yesterday.
It was our first date, a double one with Laura and Allegra. We ran into Ermes and he was the one who ended up spilling it, Matteo acted like it was nothing special.
"He was just like 'I might have forgotten to mention'." she says sarcastically, in a funny tone, making me laugh.
We continue talking for a while, talking about everything from family to marriage to living in Italy, absolutely anything was on the table.
"Do you enjoy posting on social media? Or is it just something that you're like 'might as well?' or 'I have to do this for him.'" she asks me.
"I enjoy it, but I don't enjoy the negative aspects of it. Even since before I got social media, there were people who had very strong opinions about me despite me never even opening my mouth and saying anything to the media, negative or positive. I think as time goes on, it has died down just a bit, but it is definitely still there," I tell her and she nods.
We take an hour to finish up total and then I head home.
I feel very tired so it is good that it is almost dinner time. When I get home, Matteo is waiting for me outside.
"How did it go?" he asks me.
I tell him all about it as we eat dinner together.•••••
bye bye
