"Hey," Lara said as Lorenzo got into the passenger seat. "You good?"
"Yeah." he smiled. "Nice car, I didn't know you were an Audi girl."
"What can I say?" she asked, driving away. "Only the best."
"I'm more of a BMW guy myself." he said.
"I like BMW's aswell." Lara said, turning left. "I have one but this one has my heart."
"How many cars do you have?" he asked, raising his brows.
"Only two." she said, shrugging.
"Only?" he exclaimed. "I can barely afford one, bro."
She shrugged. "Well, you're still studying so obviously you can't have a full time job."
"Studying law is a full time job." Lorenzo joked, making Lara laugh.
She heard her phone ring and looked at the car screen, seeing Pedri's name pop up.
She pursed her lips, unsure if she wanted to pick up with Lorenzo there. He looked as well but then looked out of the window as soon as be read the name.
Luckily, they stood at a red light and she took her phone out of her bag quickly and disconnected it from the car, picking it up as she brought it to her ear.
"Yeah?" she said.
"Did I leave my ring at your place?" he asked.
"I'm not sure." she said. "I can't check now, I'm not at home."
"Fuck, I don't know where it is." he said.
"Is it the one from Fer?" she asked him.
"Yeah." he said. "God, I swear he's gonna be fuming."
"You know he won't." Lara said, resuming driving as the light turned green. She bent her head, trapping the phone between her shoulder and ear.
"I know." he sighed. "But I'll beat myself up over it."
"Don't worry, I'll check when I get home and I'll let you know."
"Okay, thank you." he said but she could still hear the tenseness in his voice.
"Pedri, come on, it'll be okay." she said, hearing his tone. "Did you take it off when we were making paella?"
"I think so." she heard him say. "But I don't even know at this point."
"Okay, don't stress." she said. "I'm sure it's there."
"Okay, you're an angel." he said and she smiled. "Let me know, yeah?"
"Yeah, I may be home a bit late though. I'll let you know, though."
"That's fine. Have fun, guapa." he chuckled.
"Bye, hermoso." she said, smiling as she hung up. "Can you put my phone in my bag?"
"Yeah." Lorezno said, taking her phone from her and putting it in her bag as she kept her eyes on the road. "You two are together again?"
"Oh, no." Lara shook her head. "We're not."
She didn't want to delve into the depths of hers and Pedri's relationship so she just skimmed over the surface.
"Right." he nodded, putting her bag back in the back seat. "Then, I wanted to ask, what are you doing next Wednesday evening?"
She quickly glanced at him, knowing what he was getting at, it wasn't hard to guess.
