I lay beside Mitchell on the blanket as he rests his head on my chest.Lanze gets to his senses. „What happened?" I slowly get up, walking over to him. „Came back to your senses?" He moves closer to me, hugging me.I wrap an arm around his waist. „You did your best." he tries to assure me. „I know.But it feels so wrong letting him go through that alone when I was the one who made him like that." I reply.He looks at me. „I need to distract you.Can we eat something?I'm hungry." he whines.I stare at him before laughing softly. „Of course."
I start a fire.I then open my bag and take out the meat, roasting it over the fire.I also take out a vase and fill two cups with water.Once the meat is done I give him some, watching him eat. „This is so good." I can't help but smile at his happy expression.I eat some myself.
I only eat like 1/4 of the meat while he eats the rest. „You're eating quite much." I comment, looking at him.He licks his lips. „It's really good." He pats his stomach, showing me that he's full.I give him a cup as he takes it, drinking it empty in one go.I look towards the ocean in thought. ‚Will he ever come back?'
„Stop thinking about that merman so much." I turn to look at him, seeing that he pouts. „Concentrate on me too.I'm your spouse." He glares at me.I look away, laughing nervously at being caught.I feel him touch my hand, leaning his head on my shoulder. „I'm always here for you." he softly whispers.I intertwine our fingers, squeezing his hand.He squeezes back.
The sun starts to go down as we both lay down on the blanket.I take out some furs and put them over us.He cuddles closer to me, seeking my warmth. „Are you cold?" I ask in concern. „A bit.I'm still getting used to the temperatures." he smiles at me.I tighten my arms around him. „But you're warm." He snuggles closer to me.I close my eyes, falling asleep.
