thirteen; a fight with fate

The three supernatural females stared at each other, Carter refused to show any emotion while Lydia panted heavily beside her. However, before any of them could utter a single word, a figure emerged from behind the Darach. Carter and Lydia's grips on the edge of the table tightened, as they struggled to stay quiet as not to alert Jennifer.

When the Voltron Wolf let out a single growl, the Dark Druid turned on her heels to face the merged Alphas. The second she was facing them, they began to charge at Jennifer. The twins swung to try and claw at her neck, but the woman easily avoided it just as she had done with all of Kali's attempts to end her life.

Carter didn't even have the chance to blink before there was a sound of a sickening snap that caused her entire body to shudder at the harshness of it. The room had been quiet enough that the noise echoed on all four walls. The large body fell to the ground in slow motion, and she quickly realized that they were never getting up.

Jennifer grinned as she turned to face the brunette and strawberry-blonde, "What's the line Coach likes to say? The bigger they are..." she paused, her grin quickly widening into a smirk.

Carter and Lydia simultaneously began to move backward as Jennifer slowly advanced on them, but their cowering was cut short when their backs hit a large stone-pillar.

"What do you want from us?" Lydia asked, her voice cracked as though she were on the verge of tears.

"I want you two to do what y'all do best," Jennifer replied, inching herself closer to the teen girls. "I want you to scream."

A screeching wail erupted loudly in their ears as Jennifer's face morphed into the slashed-apart face of the Darach.

Two violent screams pierced the air as the teenagers clung to one another.

The second that the cries left Carter's throat, a weight had been lifted from her chest and she was able to breathe better than she had before. Then, she turned to her right and saw the panicking Lydia and felt her chest concave into her lungs once again.

Carter and Lydia slowly gravitated down to the floor, their backs trailing along the pillar until their asses landed roughly on the cement flooring. Lydia was quick in grabbing Carter's wrists in attempt to calm herself down, using Carter as an anchor to draw her back into reality.

The two of them remained completely oblivious to Derek and Cora's sudden arrival until Carter felt her body being pulled into someone's embrace. Their scent invaded her nose and she instantly knew that it was Derek - they had heard her and Lydia screaming from miles away.

When Derek pulled out of Carter's embrace, his eyes drifted over to the two dead bodies in his loft, "You did this for me?"

"For us," Jennifer corrected. "For anyone who's even been their victim."

Derek's lip curled in anger, moving closer to Jennifer, "Stop talking to me like a politician. Stop trying to convince me of your cause!"

"Fine. I'll convince you of someone else's," Jennifer stated, her tone hardening when she realized that her tactic wasn't working. "Scott," Carter's body instantly stiffened. "You can save his mother, Stiles' father."

Carter made a move to get up from the floor, but Cora was quick in holding her back before she could make a mistake and got herself killed.
