Me and my mom were walking to school to pick up my little brother. We were deep into conversation when out of the corner of my eye I saw a little kid chasing a ball out into the street. I looked around to see if I could find his parents, but I couldn't find anyone. I looked ahead and could see a truck speeding ahead getting dangerously close. Before I could think I ran out into the street and pushed the little boy away. Before I could move to get myself out of the road I felt unimaginable pain all over my body. I couldn't move my body at all. Everything was ringing around me. As the ringing started to subside I saw my mother in front of me crying and screaming. "SOMEONE CALL THE AMBULANCE, PLEASE! SOMEONE HELP MY DAUGHTER!"
I looked towards my mom with tears in my eyes. I tried to speak, but I started coughing. I felt something wet on my chin. From what I could assume was that it was blood, based on my mom's expression. I tried again. "Mom...is the boy ok?" I asked her.
"Shh, stop talking Aspen. You need to save your breath," she tells me while crying.
"Mom, I already know I'm not surviving this. Just know that I love you and Alex a lot." I said crying with her.
Sound started to fade around me and things started to get blurry. I soon closed my eyes. It felt like I was floating in space. "Prisoner 3-1-9, face the wall."
