"Win, share the files about the new project," Elina said.

"They're auto-updated on your laptop," Win replied. "You just need to log in with the new details. Also, I've sent them to your company mail ID. Here's everything you need," he said, passing Elina a folder with the login credentials and other necessary information.

Elina nodded, taking the folder. "Okay, I'll go through the files and then we can have a meeting. Tell everyone to be prepared with their ideas."

Win nodded. "Will do. I'll inform the team right away."

As Elina settled at her desk, she logged into her laptop and began reviewing the project files. The more she read, the more excited she became about the potential of the new project. She made notes and started outlining her thoughts to present in the upcoming group meeting.

Emma's point of view in school

As the morning classes passed, Emma quickly adapted to her new environment. She was pleased with the quality of the teachers, though she couldn't shake the feeling of being an outcast. Determined to focus on her studies, she actively participated in class, answering questions and staying engaged. Jiho's similar dedication to his studies particularly amused her.

When the lunch break arrived, Emma bit her lip, unsure of the way to the cafeteria. Jiho seemed to notice her hesitation and, as he stood up, he said, "The cafeteria is on the ground floor. There are signs, so you shouldn't have any trouble finding it." Emma smiled in gratitude, but Jiho left before she could thank him. She pouted momentarily before reassuring herself,

"It's okay, I can thank him later."

Taking out a small notebook of formulas, Emma headed to the cafeteria, revising her notes as she walked.

Emma took her food and searched for an empty seat. She finally found one in the corner and settled down, hoping to use the time to go over her notes. As she ate, she couldn't help but notice the curious glances from other students. It was only natural for a new student to draw attention, but she sensed it was more than just curiosity.

"Why is she sitting there?" someone whispered.

"Should we tell her?" another voice asked.

"No, let her be. She's had enough attitude since morning."

"Yeah, she's quite annoying."

Emma sighed, overhearing their whispers. She shook her head and focused on revising her notes, determined not to let the gossip bother her.

Time skipped to evening, Elina's point of view

"Um, Ms. Elina, aren't you heading out?" Win asked. Elina shook her head, focused on her work. "No," she replied.

Win and the others exchanged glances, and Elina noticed the sudden silence. Looking up, she understood their concern. With a wide smile, she said, "You all can go ahead. Your working hours are over, no need to stay late. I need to spend a little more time familiarizing myself with the previous work."

Win hesitated a little. "But—"

"It's alright, Win. You all can go," she reassured him.

The others smiled, genuinely appreciating her kindness in not burdening them with her own stress. They thanked her, bid their goodbyes, and left.

Elina sighed softly as soon as they were gone, the echo of their footsteps fading down the hallway. She stretched her fingers, the weariness settling into her bones after a long day of learning the ropes at a new environment. Glancing at her phone's lock screen, a cherished picture of her and Emma smiling brightly back at her, she couldn't help but smile looking at it.
