Karan instantly jumped a feet away from Teja .
"I was here to wash my hands Bhai, I swear." He blurted only to find no one infront of him. 
Teja chuckled and said "ofcourse he is in your team" and left the kitchen.
"Good night" she said before entering the bedroom while Karan only glared at her.
As she entered the room ,  she saw her mother sleeping so she quietly went and laid down on the other side of the bed.
 
"Ate your dinner?" Her mother asked.
"I thought you were sleeping."
"I was." Her mother said and raised her brows asking her to answer the previous question.
"Yes , I had my dinner."
"And Karan? "
"He did eat along with me, but didn't he have it with you guys too."
"No he didn't. He said he will wait for you. "
"Ohh. He didn't eat much then." She said a bit worried. 
"If ever you feel hungry in the middle of night, just message me." She messaged him .
"Will you feed me (wink emoji )" he replied back .
"Chii , sleep hungry idc ."
"I had pure intentions, it's your corrupted mind that misinterpreted it ."
"(Frustrated face emoji)."
"(Laughing emoji). I love you."
"I hate you."
"You don't (red heart)."
Teja dropped her phone on the side table and covered her face smiling.
Her mother turned towards her and said , "I was going to ask you if you were happy, but I don't think there's a need now" as she saw her daughter smiling so bright. 
"Are you happy with my decision mom. "
"If it makes my daughter happy then definitely. Also I believe that you both are serious about each other, right ?"
"Yes I am."
"What about him ?"
"More than me" she said and chuckled. "But I think he should not ."
"Why so? "
"I don't know. Maybe the fact that he can easily get someone more beautiful, more intelligent, more interesting than me. 
You know he is a cricketer, he plays for India, has immense fan following yet he chose to be with an average girl like me . Don't you think that he should rather date an actor, model , or a businessman's daughter or a businesswoman herself. "
"Did you ask him this question ."
"Ahh...he will ridicule this thought at once."
"To be honest, it is his life and his decision to make. And if he has made a decision I don't think that you should interfere."
"But will it not be selfish of me to keep him away from better options, when I know that he deserves so much better."
"First of all this is not some job we are talking about and secondly why do you feel inferior than any actor model or businesswoman. 
My daughter is an excellent doctor, is financially independent and above all has a good heart, the rarest thing to find in your generation. So shut your brain off and sleep."
Teja pulled the duvet over her head and mumbled, "you are saying this cause you are my mom. "
"Teja" her mother warned and they both slept.

"Teju, Niti , let's go shopping" Kirti said excitedly "I wanted to explore Mumbai market since so long."
"Kirti atleast get done with the thing we are here for" Her mother said.
Soon the elders got seated on the sofas and the rest settled where they got a place. 
"Aunty please don't mind but , are we going to fix their wedding or engagement date now ." Tarun asked.
Karan's mother smiled lightly and said, "No beta , we will discuss that only when both of them are ready for it, at their own pace. I just wanted to ask ,if you all have any doubts or questions regarding us or our family. As a mother of a daughter I know that it gets a bit hard to trust someone with our daughters."
"Yes , I had some..." Tarun said but his mother interrupted him.
"You being considerate enough to ask this makes me feel sure about the family. And we do like Karan for Teju."
 
"But this needs to be sorted out first." Karan's father said all of a sudden and then showed Karan an article.

The article showed a story posted by Riya which captured Karan's hoarding with a romantic song playing in the background.
"This girl is getting on my nerves now" Karan said being irritated.
"Can you two tell us what's wrong." Kirti asked .
Karan told everyone about the article. While doing this his eyes constantly went in Teja's direction to see her reaction. 
They had an eye contact, and as if reading the tension in Karan's mind Teja blinked her eyes in assurance and smiled.
"She is weird" Sameer said.
"More like a psychopath" Kirti said with anger clear in her tone.
"This is what I was worried about." Tarun said.
"Bhai.."  "Tarun.." Teja and her mother warned him at the same time.
"No it is totally fine." Karan said "I can understand, but Bhai I assure you there is nothing as she is trying to portray. I have literally met her just once and that too was at the airport and totally accidental.
I know I should have cleared this rumour long ago but I thought that they will die down on their own. I was wrong in thinking that , I'm sorry."
"Karan, I know you enough to know that you are loyal to my sister." Tarun said. "I am more concerned about the rumours that surround you every now and then. There's a lot of toxicity that follows you and I know that none of it is your fault but I'm scared to put Teju through it. 
"Bhai.." Teja warned again, but everyone else kept quiet as they knew that Tarun was not wrong with whatever he said.
"I will keep her safe." Karan said breaking the silence. 
"I will respect her privacy and I will never ever let the negativity around me affect her, I promise. "
