Title: Mysotis

Ivan looked up into the night sky. What was Yao doing? He sighed. He wished that he could just lie to him. He hated when Yao was sad. But, lies don't heal.....right?

"I miss you," he said. That wasn't a lie. He truly did miss him. His feelings just weren't strong enough.

"Big Brother!!" He heard Natalia call. He shuddered in fear. Ivan got up and began running away from his sister.

Ivan sat in his room. He could tell how devastated Yao was when he told him the truth. Yao had fallen into darkness.

Ivan felt a strong need to save him. Not as a lover nor friend, something in between. As a family? Sibling? Ivan did not know.

Kiku walked through the bamboo forest, the very same forest he was found in by the Chinese man. He stopped and gasped.

Yao was laying on the ground in a pool of blood, eyes glazed over, and tears streaming down his pale face. He had a large gash at his neck.

Yao had commuted suicide.

"Yao!!" Kiku shouted. The Japanese ran towards the corpse, holding it tightly. He cried. Who wouldn't after someone close to you died?

Kiku opened his eyes. They were filled with rage. How could Ivan do this to him? But he had no right to harm the Russian. It might've not been Ivan after all.

Kiku wipes his tears.

"ごめんなさい."
(Japanese: Hiragana - Gomen'nasai = I'm sorry)

He saw nothing but darkness. Why? Why didn't Ivan do anything to save their relationship?

"如果你爱我, 救我."
(Chinese: Ru Guo no ai wo, jiu wo = If you love me, save me)

Ivan couldn't understand his feelings. Who was the expert on love? Francis Bonnefoy.

"Ah! Bonjour, mon ami!" The Frenchman said.

"Привет," Ivan responded.
(Russian: Privet = Hi)

"What's wrong?" He asked. He say down.

"Well, I need help."

"On what zhough?" France chuckled. "Ees eet about Yao?"

Ivan nodded. He buried his face into his hands.

"I don't know what to feel..." He said. "I love him...not as a lover, not as a friend."

"Somezhing in between?" Francis asked.

"Da." He thought for a sec.

"A little less zhen lovers, a little more zhen friends, Oui?"

"Da." Francis sighed.

"Zhat ees a bit complicated. I guess eet's like being partners in life. Not as een amour, but een friendship. Zhat's all I can say," Francis finally said. Ivan nodded.

"спасибо."
(Russian: spasibo = thank you)

Yao always had a darker meaning to his existence. Just like the dark side of the moon.

Ivan always had a lighter meaning to his existence. Just like the sunflowers he loves.

With each passing night, Ivan felt as if he grew weaker.

"Yume?" The young girl visiting the said Russian looked up.

"Hm?"

"Why do I feel so weak?" The girl thought for a bit.

"The only explanation I can think of is that Yao's spirit wants revenge. He's sorta making you weaker." Ivan started laughing.

"It's true!!" Yume said. She blushed in embarrassment.

"That's nonsense!" Yume pouted.

"Fine. Don't believe me."

The wind blew through the leaves. It was a very cold night in Russia. Ivan shuddered beneath the covers. It was cold, especially since he couldn't hug Yao for warmth and comfort. Why did he have to let go of him?

Suddenly, he felt as if someone hugged him.

"再见," he heard someone whisper.
(Chinese: Zai Jian = Good Bye)

He opened his eyes and looked around. No one was there. Ivan was quite puzzled. Who could it have been?

"Someone's missing..." Alfred said at the world meeting. Kiku sighed.

"Yao is missing." Alfred looked him.

"Huh? Why?"

"He committed....suicide..." Kiku said. Everyone gasped.

"Why would he do that?"

"Who made him so depressed?" Whispers began all around the room. Ivan sat there, shocked and eyes wide. What happened?

<@

Rain fell on the nations as the coffin was slowly placed beneath the earth. It was cold, sad, and dark. The rain added to the depressing atmosphere.

No stars were visible that night, for they had been hidden by the dark clouds which poured raindrops onto the nations.

They concealed the tears shed by the countries as well. The only one who wasn't crying was Ivan. For some reason, he couldn't. It was as if he had cried enough already.

Ivan sighed. He looked up at the sky.

"Мне очень жаль. Пожалуйста, прости меня."
(Russian: Mne ochen' zhal'. Pozhaluysta, prosti menya. = I'm so sorry. Please forgive me.)

He looked at the casket and sighed again.

"Я все еще люблю тебя. До свидания."
(Russian: YA vse yeshche lyublyu tebya. Do svidaniya = I still love you. Good bye.)

Yume sat at home. She didn't feel as if it was her place to go to a funeral as a miko. She sighed.

"Oi, Yao?"

"Hm?"

"You still love him, don't ya?"

"Yeah." Yume looked at the sky.

"Heh." Yao raised an eyebrow.

"What's so funny, aru?"

"Per Ardua Ad Astra
Altiora Petamus
Volente Deo
Lucete Stellae...."

"Hm?" Yume giggled.

"It's Latin."

Mysotis is the scientific name for "Forget-Me-Not" I believe. This song is a sequel of the song "Magnolia".
