AUTHOR'S POV

THE MYSTERIOUS TEXTS

One evening, as Ji-won was winding down after a long day, her phone buzzed with a new message. She glanced at the screen, expecting it to be from Soo-hyun or one of her friends, but instead, it was an unknown number.

Unknown: You should know the truth about Soo-hyun. He's not who you think he is.

A chill ran down Ji-won's spine. She stared at the message, her mind racing. Who could this be? And what did they mean?

Unable to shake off the uneasy feeling, Ji-won decided to talk to Soo-hyun about it the next day. They met at a park, a quiet spot they often went to when they needed to discuss serious matters.

"Soo-hyun, I got a weird text last night," Ji-won said, showing him her phone. "Do you have any idea who could have sent this?"

Soo-hyun frowned as he read the message. "I have no idea. This is strange. Have you received any other messages like this?"

"No, just this one," Ji-won replied, biting her lip. "It made me feel... uneasy."

Soo-hyun reached out and took her hand. "We'll figure this out together. Whoever is trying to come between us won't succeed."

A few days later, Ji-won received another text from the same unknown number.

Unknown: He's hiding something from you. Ask him about the woman he meets every Tuesday.

Ji-won felt a pang of doubt, but she remembered Soo-hyun's promise. That evening, she called him.

"Soo-hyun, I got another text. They mentioned a woman you meet every Tuesday. What’s going on?"

Soo-hyun sighed, his voice calm but firm. "It's my sister. She lives in the city, and we have dinner every Tuesday. I didn't mention it because it's just family time. You can come with me next week if you want."

Ji-won felt a wave of relief. "I'd like that. Thank you for being honest with me."

Determined to uncover the truth, Soo-hyun and Ji-won decided to investigate the mysterious texts together. They started by tracing the number through a friend who worked in cybersecurity.

A few days later, they got a lead. The texts were coming from a disposable phone purchased near Ji-won's workplace.

"This is getting creepy," Ji-won said, looking over the information they had gathered. "Why would someone go to such lengths?"

"I don't know," Soo-hyun replied, his brow furrowed. "But we're going to find out."

Their investigation led them to an unexpected source: Seo Ye-ji. They confronted her one evening after she left work.

"Ye-ji, we know you've been sending those texts," Ji-won said, her voice steady despite the anger bubbling inside her. "Why are you doing this?"

Ye-ji's face twisted with a mix of guilt and defiance. "I was trying to protect you, Ji-won. Soo-hyun isn't who you think he is."

"That's not your decision to make," Soo-hyun interjected, his voice cold. "If you have a problem with me, address it directly. Don't go behind Ji-won's back."

Ye-ji looked between them, her resolve faltering. "I just didn't want to see you get hurt, Ji-won."

"You've done enough," Ji-won said firmly. "Stay out of our relationship."
