LILITH

"Quiet!" The man hissed at me and pushed me with so much force that I fell on the floor with a thud.

"Please don't hurt me." I pleaded yet again after God knows how many times. This man that visited me regularly was mean. He usually brought me the food but he didn't like that I cried.

He said that I should not cry and keep quiet.

"Shut up, you little bitch." He kicked me in my stomach while I tried to cover up my head. Every time he hit me in the head it hurt. A lot.

Tears flowed down my face and I wiped them with my hand when I saw him take a step towards me.

"I told you so many times not to make a sound yet you do it again and again." He grabbed a fistful of my hair and dragged me towards the mattress on the cold floor.

He grabbed the chain and locked it over my hand. I didn't fight back because he was going to hit me again.

I knew he would.

"Eat your food and stop crying. My head hurts from your whining." He pushed the plate with little food towards me and straightened up from his crouched down position.

I tried my best to stop the hiccups and do whatever he said.

The door began to open again more light came into the room.

The lady that visited me sometimes started to walk inside. She stopped few feet away from me and I lifted my head up. The light from behind her, blinding me for a few seconds.

She crossed her arms in front of her and tapped her heel on the floor.

"The scars on her face stayed. How many times have I told you not to harm her face?" She spoke sharply to the man.

"She wouldn't stop crying Miss."

"Next time find another way to shut her up. What are we supposed to say when..." She started to speak more quietly and closer to his ear. I couldn't really make out her words.

Whenever she visited, she just observed me and then walked away.

Just like today. She didn't do anything else other than stand by the door and watch.

"I'll try my best." The man said.

"You are clearly not trying. I don't have the time to look for someone else to look after her. You better do your job more carefully." After that, she turned around and left.

The man stalked towards me and leaned forward slightly.

"Not another word or I'll have to find another way to shut you up."

I stared at the window as I woke up from the horrifying nightmare.

Well a memory.

That was the warning he gave me couple of days before he struck me with his belt over my stomach. The scar was still visible and because I was small back then, the scar stretched even more due to me growing up.
