He loved his job. He loved coming to work. He loved that he got to do something most people get to only dream about. He loved this cast who seemed to click so easily. There was an ease on set, as if they could all trust that they would bring their best. He loved play Baek Hyun Woo a smart, charming, but still pathetically cute man.
But he didn't know what to feel about this new feeling that he had fluttering in his chest. This feeling that was a mixture of excitement and anxiousness. It was more than just butterflies, and the feeling was uncomfortable but he didn't hate it. It was just new, it was strange but he didn't really want it to stop.
And it only happened when Ji Won was around. It only happened when she was right there in front of him, looking at him with those sweet round brown eyes. When he saw the call sheet and saw that he had scenes with her, he felt it as he looked at her name with a smile that he couldn't stop.
This feeling was fine as the first few episodes needed that awkward energy, the tension of Hyun Woo not knowing what to do--but what was he going to do when he had to be truly in love with her? Or when they went to Germany to film more of the romantic scenes together. What would he do then? He really needed to focus. He really needed to get his head on straight. He really needed to get a control of his heart and stay professional and--
"Good morning, Oppa."
Turing his head, he saw her walk towards him and it really did feel like it was in slow motion. Even the way the light was hitting her face, the way her hair moved--born pretty. He thought as he stared before blinking and waving at her with a smile.
"I heard you hate a late shoot last night." The slight pout on her lips, the way she looked at him worriedly.
Don't look at me like that. It makes me weak.
"Yeah. It was the drunk scene. The one where I had to be the cute Yongduri youngest son." He said with a chuckle and then rubbed the tip of his nose with a shy expression. He was actually very proud of that scene. The laughter on set, the way even the director was saying it was so perfectly suited for Hyun Woo. He wished she was on set that day to see it. He wanted to see her reaction and hear her laughter but alas, it was one of those bad days when they had opposite schedules. At least he got his manager to record the scene from the side. "Actually, I did an homage for that scene."
"An homage?" She looked at him curiously and he took out his phone before he hid the screen playfully.
"Ah. But before I show you, I want to see the original."
"The original?"
"Mmnmn. The infamous born pretty scene. I want to see it."
And he really wished he took a photo of the way her jaw dropped slightly, her eyes widening, before she dropped her head and shook her head, laughing to herself. "Wah...You...No way..."
"You'll never know until I see the original." He teased playfully and turned his head and bent down to try to get a glimpse of the smile that was growing on her face.
"I could just wait until the first cut is finished." She said with a smirk. "I can be very patient, you know."
"Is it that hard?" He brought out the more loser like side of Hyun Woo as he pouted and inched closer to her. "Can't I just see it? I really want to see it."
"There's plenty of clips out there, Oppa!" She whined and looked at him as if begging him to not do this to her.
"Yeah but I wanna see it live. It's not fair."
She exhaled loudly, flicking her bangs away from her face as she put her hands on her waist and glared at him like Hong Hae In would if she was scolding her husband. And if it was anyone else, he would have just dropped it but he really liked teasing her like this. "Oppa." She said with a slight pout before she huffed and looked to the side. "Do you know how hard it is for me?" Her cute voice was pitched differently and his grin grew. She pursed her lips cutely and he had to cover his mouth to stop the laughter that was threatening to come out. "To be asked to this and that just because I'm so pretty? You know it's not my fault. I don't even pretend to be pretty, I was just born this way. This makes Ji Wonie's life so difficult. Hng. Hng." She turned her head twice to the side and pouted.
