It had been months of peace, but then a new threat rose. One in the form of a spirit-like thing called The Hollow. Because it wanted more power, it had come after Freya. Because of that, and because they weren't sure how to defeat it exactly, Klaus had made the ultimate decision to put it inside himself. But because he was a timebomb due to how he was even without it controlling him, they needed to figure out quickly what to do. They hadn't been successful, so Klaus had decided that he'd just get it over with and kill himself. And because of this, Elijah was ready to die with him. Apart from Katerina and their other siblings, Klaus had always been Elijah's purpose. And that's what brought them to the road, White Oak stake in Klaus' hand.

Kat approached the scene, having finally figured out a solution to their problem, and magically tossed it out of his hand.

"There's no need for this. I found a way. I get this thing out of you. Then send it to a prison world, where it'll never get out," Kat informed them. She'd been quite determined to figure out a solution, being quite against them dying, so she was happy to have figured out how to stop all of this.

"You have impeccable timing, Katerina," Klaus commented. It's not like he'd wanted to die, but he'd thought it had been his only option. He was ready to allow Katerina to do this. Anything to save himself and the world from this thing.

In the end, Kat was able to do as she'd said. And so, everyone lived through The Hollow. As far as the Mikaelsons and Katherine were concerned, anyway. After everything with The Hollow, Kat had lost a good friend of hers. Sophie. She'd miss her. She'd been such a good friend to her, even when Kat hadn't always been the nicest person. Davina had survived through all of this though, which was a plus. Kat hated losing friends. Especially, when she had so few friends to begin with.
