Changes and Distance

                                    

                                          
Fuji Shuusuke looked at his window and found Echizen Ryoma that night, walking down the garden. He seemed troubled and is pain. 
                          
Ryoma also looked confused by the changes in his emotions that day. He doesn't feel very much comfortable around Yumiko already. 
                          
"I'm... A level D, right?" he told himself. "But... If I'm a Level D, why do I feel uncomfortable already? I still love her but it's not what I feel like before! What's happening to me?"
                          
Rain came down badly that night and that's when Fuji Shuusuke decided to come down the dorm and look after him to ask why he looks so troubled until, he suddenly saw a strange man going down in the same path, holding a sword. 
                          
Luckily, before that strange man reaches Ryoma inside the garden, Ichiru quickly stopped him and deflected his sword. "What kind of darkness and grudge do you hold against Echizen Ryoma, FUJI YUUTA!"
                          
Shuusuke and Ryoma were shocked by just what suddenly happened before their very eyes. "Who are you to trespass against my mission?" Yuuta asked. 
                          
"I have the very right to do it. I am only protecting the child that my brother protected and saved! I have been angry with him for very long and Kaname also killed my master but revenge only leads to more revenge! Get over it!" he shouted. 
                          
Yuuta was surprised. "I'm not Yuuta!"
                          
"Liar! I know what you have done!" Ichiru said. "You just killed an innocent young man! You are worse than the vampire hunters that once destroyed you!"
                          
Yuuta laughed at his predicament. "That Yuuta died long ago. The Yuuta now lives for the sake of revenge against those who killed her!"
                          
"Please, Yuuta, is that really you?" Shuusuke spoke up.
                          
Yuuta looked at his brother and that's when he felt shame. "Nii-san..."
                          
He dissolved his disguise and stopped in his tracks to attack Echizen Ryoma but Ichiru quickly ran to stop and swayed his sword in the same direction of Yuuta's sword to stop it from reaching an unstable Ryoma right now who seemed very much depressed.
                          
"Why attack him? I thought you're after me," Ichiru said.
                          
"I have nothing against you. You are only Zero's brother that is why I also want to kill you but, when I woke up alongside my master.... Now that she's gone, I know how bad it is for me to have lost her! You all destroyed her! I hate all of you! What I am only doing is for her! I will take my revenge! I will.... I will.... eliminate all of you!" Yuuta screamed. 
                          
In that instant, Ryoma opened his eyes to reality while the rain goes down harder upon them. "You can't touch me for your silly revenge, you hear me? I'm the kind of man who can destroy you anytime I want! Yuuta, you aren't really him, anymore. I don't care what your brother might feel but, I will destroy you!" screamed Ryoma but then in an instant, when he was about to attack him using his own powers which he manifested and learned himself secretly, Shuusuke watched in pain. 
                          
He was training his powers which are magnetism and gravitational shields to attract metal from far away from him even he is not holding them. He took a sword miles away from him and let it float above them. 
                          
It was about to strike Yuuta but Ryoma stopped it when Fuji Shuusuke suddenly came in between them and shouted, "PLEASE.... Don't do this!"
                          
He is currently innocent, protecting a brother who had lost the sight of brightness and only been seeing the darkness of this world.
                          
"He has long been dead, Fuji-senpai. I want to preserve my old memories of the real Yuuta. Please, don't go against me!" Ryoma said. 
                          
Kaname felt Ryoma's shields, coming from the garden and the rest came out to also know what was happening, especially Yumiko who's very much worried until all of them were surprised that Echizen Ryoma is possessing and has been hiding a powerful ability.
                          
"When... When did you learn this?" asked Yumiko. 
                          
"Why can't you understand, Echizen Ryoma? You are a fellow Level D! You must know how painful it is to be so far away from your master! I do feel that I, myself is reexperiencing death. Why can't you know that ill feeling????" shouted Yuuta.
                          
Ryoma's eyes were suddenly covered by his own hair and that's when he realized that he is different. That he was no longer in his level. He was no longer a Level D. He is now a noble vampire like his senpais. 
                          
"I'm not like you anymore, Fuji Yuuta. I am not a fellow Level D anymore! I am not a human who just been bitten by a Pureblood! I am Miyaki Akari-sama's grandson!" he answered him.
                          
That sent a painful surprise to Yumiko and when Ryoma knew that she heard him, he can't just lie to her and send another lie. He knows that he has to be honest.
                          
"Forgive me, Yumiko-sama but I believe that I have finally surpassed a Level D. I no longer feel that strong attachment I have to you unlike before. I feel more free... though I still love you so much. I feel more independent like I was before I became a vampire. I still need you by my side, Yumiko-sama. Do not fear. I ain't pure like you but thanks to you, my vampire blood has been activated. I was able to unravel the past and be who I am, now. I am still yours. I won't leave you," he told her which brought her a smile and reassurance that Ryoma wouldn't get away from her.
                          
"Let him go, Ryoma!" pleaded Fuji Shuusuke but Ryoma knows best, he has to beat him before something goes amiss. 
                          
Ryoma still used his magnetism, took a sword from his left and for others, it looked like it was floating but Ryoma is actually sending an invisible hand to hold it. Yuuta was planning to kill his own brother to save himself! 
                          
So, before all else, Ryoma has to save someone who is currently still living. 
                          
Ryoma struck down Fuji Yuuta at his chest even it pained him so much that he has to kill, to save. 
                          
Of course, Shuusuke cannot accept it. It happened too fast for him. 
                          
"YUUTA!!!!!"
                          
Ryoma fell down on his knees and cried hard. It was his first time to feel so confused if what he had done is only the right thing to do. 
                          
He stared at Shuusuke and knew that his senpai might never trust him or even believe him that he only did it to protect him. He left him like nothing happened with all his vampire senpais. He knows now that as a Noble Vampire, he felt that he has been getting farther away from his human senpais. 
                          
"Are you alright?" Yumiko asked and smiled at him.
                          
That smile comforted him. He knows now that everything will all be fine and he prayed that Shuusuke would understand his decisions.
