a/n: season 3 is announced to be released on july 19! so excited!

It was the next morning and everyone had gathered for the funeral of the deceased in Green Home Apartments. There were two graves—one for Min-ju and the other for the soldier, Lee Su-ung. who died protecting others.

Jin-ok kneeled by her daughter's grave, staring with solemn eyes. Next to her was Jae-heon, who was praying for the deceased.

You stood next to Eun-hyuk and Ji-su in silence. You heard footsteps from behind and turned to look, seeing Su-yeong and Yeong-su walking towards Gil-seop with plastic flowers in hand.

"Here, Grandpa..." Su-yeong said as she passed the flowers to him.

Gil-seop took the flowers and placed them on the graves. He stood back up and saluted them. "We were born as humans... and we will die as humans."

You glanced at Gil-seop's salute before you turned around and began walking away. Just as you did so, Eun-hyuk grabbed you by your wrist. "Where are you going?"

"To see Hyun-su," You answered.

"You know it isn't good to keep seeing him. He's-"

"A monster?" You interrupted him. "You've already mentioned it about a thousand times, Eun-hyuk. You can keep saying it because it won't deter me from seeing him."

With that, you removed Eun-hyuk's hand from your wrist and walked towards Hyun-su's isolation room. You sighed, thinking back to Eun-hyuk's words.

You hoped that their perception on Hyun-su would have slowly changed after he risked his life multiple times for them. It was useless for you to even hope.

In the following days, Hyun-su was given a new task of going up to the apartments to grab items the others needed and wanted. You disliked the idea since he would be running around like a servant for them, but Eun-hyuk paid no attention.

So, you decided to tag along for his sake. No one was going to care if Hyun-su was injured except for you. You could also keep an eye on his safety since his monster side could come out at any time.

You were looking after Su-yeong and Yeong-su when the rest of the survivors slowly approached you with a piece of paper. You glanced at it and then at them.

"It's today's list," Jae-hwan said.

You furrowed your eyebrows before speaking, "Do you guys think it's fun having Hyun-su enter the apartments every day just to collect your items? If it's important items like medication, I understand, but some of the items you've requested are honestly fucking useless. Stop treating Hyun-su like an errand boy."

"He seems fine with it," Jae-hwan muttered.

You glared at him, "That's because he won't speak up against all of you. He's too nice, but sooner or later, he will grow tired of your bullshit and turn his back on you when you need him."

With that, you walked away, leaving to find Hyun-su to get the supply run over and done with. You walked past Eun-hyuk's office, snatching the keys from the table as you walked by.

You inserted the key into the lock and unlocked it. Pushing open the door, you saw Hyun-su sitting up against the wall. He turned to look at the door and saw your familiar figure. He smiled before seeing the paper in your hands.

"Let's get it over and done with," He said, moving to stand.

"Wait, Hyun-su," You spoke, stopping him in his tracks as you grabbed his hand. "Don't you hate it? Having to be used around like an errand boy just because of your powers?"
