Months after Shadow escaped his death at the hands of the ORC club and team RWBY, Shadow had been living in alleyways in the city he had teleported to known as Westopolis. Shadow has been doing what he can to survive, learning more about his strange abilities and dealing with the strange visions he has been having recently.
At the moment Shadow was standing on a small hill with a tree behind him, he watched the city with sun setting in the distance with his arms crossed and Arondight on his back. A newspaper lands on his leg. The headline mentioned some mysterious comet that has been spotted around the Earth's orbit, but the newspaper is soon blown away in the wind.
Shadow: 'What's wrong with me? What's with these weird memories, especially that gruesome image.'
Shadow closed his eyes momentarily as the memory flashed through his mind again, in the memory it shows Shadow running down a long hallway of a mysterious facility with a blonde haired girl he does not recognize. The two of them were trying out run a group of soldiers but they were eventually surrounded and the girl was shot with shadow untiring one word.
Shadow: MARIA!
Shadow opens his eyes and looks up at the sky. The memory almost seems to haunt him but he wondered is this a repressed memory or if it's a hint of things to come.
Shadow: What's with these memories? What do they mean and who is this Maria?
While thinking about this red clouds appear overhead, the clouds soon move passed show and above Westopolis. The clouds open up in a circle and suddenly creatures began falling from the sky into the city and begin wrecking havoc.
Shadow: Hmm, look how pathetic they are! I don't have time for these humans.
???: Shadow.
Shadow turns around and sees some kind of starfish looking creature with a large central eye. The eye project an image of an alien that begins to talk to Shadow. It's appearance had a jet black squid-like body with three red bestial eyes, wide set red tipped horns adorned its spine covered head, its hands ended in four clawed digits.
The creature was dressed in a old and worn dark brown robe with black shoulder pauldrons with golden trim, a maroon scarf with markings draped over it back, golden chains with silver spiked medallions each embedded gems, and two necklaces of black cord. One decorated with red, blue and purple ornaments and golden and silver pendants on the other.

Shadow: Huh? Who are you? how do you know I'm Shadow? And what are you talking about?
However Shadow doesn't get any answers as the image vanished and the creature flies off. Shadow reaches out to the creature as explosions go off around him. Preventing him from getting to the creature.
