As soon as Obito showed up, about half an hour late, the team set off. Since Shika had worked out a good plan with the map and was able to refine it with Minato, they didn't have to go to any trouble just then and started running.
"So, our mission is to distract the enemy so that the other groups can advance and push back the ninjas from Iwagakure?" Obito asked in the silence. In principle, he had already understood the whole mission. But he saw no real reason to make a diversion behind it.
"Our goal is to end the Ninja World War, as we have done many times before. Iwagakure has already advanced far too far to our border. To prevent them from getting any closer to Konoha, it's our job to push them back into their realm." Minato explained calmly. "Our aim is not to harm anyone. But in war, unfortunately, there are still many casualties."
Shika looked up at her temporary sensei. So Minato was a person who wanted to achieve peace. With his character, his ability and his knowledge, he could become a good Hokage. At his side lived an Uzumaki who had also experienced a great deal of the war. Especially her clan.
The Uzumaki clan had already struggled during the first Shinobi World War, in which Hashirama and Tobirama Senju were involved. It was not known exactly, but the Strudel Empire was destroyed from one day to the next due to their strength. Only a few Uzumaki could have survived this attack.
Kushina Uzumaki was brought to Konoha before this attack and, together with Minato, had to witness the beginning of the Second Shinobi World War. Even then, the genin were called upon to go to war. It was hoped that this world war would come to an end and that was where her mission came in.
Shika was absolutely certain that this team could achieve something. That they could bring peace between the villages for a short time. But this could only happen if Iwagakure withdrew for the time being.
Sunagakure was currently a little quieter when it came to the war. Especially towards the Fire Empire, with whom Sunagakure had a moderate peace treaty. But how long it would last was uncertain.
"That's crap..." said Obito, who had folded his arms behind his head. "Are you scared?" Kakashi asked provocatively, triggering a slight anger in Obito. "I'm not afraid! After all, I'm going to be Hokage one day!"
Rin giggled softly. She was probably used to the two of them bickering. For Shika, it was rather annoying. If she were alone in a team with these two, she would have walked away from them very quickly. They were too exhausting.
"You're supporting him?" Kakashi asked incredulously. "Everyone has some kind of goal, don't they?" Rin asked with a smile, Obito's nose turning a little red.
"Kakashi, you should appreciate the wishes and goals of your comrades and support them. Even if it might be insane." Minato, who had been listening to the conversation, said. "Who knows. Maybe Obito really will become a Hokage."
Obito looked at his comrade with a grin. Something Kakashi couldn't return and looked away. "Tell me, Shika. Do you have a goal you're pursuing?" Rin asked as she walked next to the Nara.
The five-year-old looked at the gentle face for a moment before she put her head back on her neck and looked between the treetops. "Hm...maybe...being a cloud..."
"Huh?" came from Obito, which probably made Kakashi snort softly. "A cloud is free, carefree, without worries. It is simply present and only appears when you need it. Mostly when it rains, but...it is not exploited by anyone..."
"Strange dream..." Obito murmured. "Who would want to be a cloud...?" he continued quietly. Shika really was quite a mystery.
