A/N Sorry the update is so late, Ive been procrastinating a LOT. School is almost over for the year! WOO
Also btw I'm writing this on my phone (I don't have the app btw) so I can't use Italics and stuff lmao 
The story will continue here, 3rd POV 
I don't have any more plans for the current time so we're gonna do a 2 year time skip 😅
Naruto has had his artificial arm now (although he still isn't 100% used to it), and Sasuke had gotten used to using one arm for jutsu and cooking, and doing whatever you normally do with two arms, with one. 
Sasuke had been living life with a constant guilt looming over him, and even though everyone seemed to forgive him, he still felt like they didn't  fully forgive him. He decided he couldn't just ignore the consequences of what he had done, so today, he made the decision to leave on a journey of atonement.
Sasuke stood by the gate with Kakashi and Sakura.
"What? No thank you to your sensei, the one who got you out of prison?" Kakashi spoke.
"Thank you. I wouldn't be able to do this without you. And... I'm sorry. I'm sorry for hurting you and everyone else." Sasuke looked down to try and hide his the tears that had begun to form in his eyes.
"And um, I guess thanks to you as well Sakura." Sasuke gave her a small smile and wiped the tears away. "Well then, I should be off. Thank you, once again." 
Kakashi just smiled under his mask. He was so happy to have Sasuke back. And deel down he knew that he was always his favorite. 
Sakura smiled too, and looked at Sasuke. She gave him a look, not one longing for love or a look of disgust, but one that silently communicated everything that needed to be said.
"Bye" Sasuke waved and turned around. He was officially leaving. But this time was different. This time was to help, not destroy and hurt. He felt content, but there was something that was bothering him.
'Where is Naruto? I didn't think he would miss this. Did he sleep in? Or is he just choosing not to come?' Sasuke thought. He was even deeper in love with Naruto now. Naruto apparently still liked Hinata. 
Sasuke's mood saddened, he wasn't going to see Naruto before he left. He kept walking until he was stopped by a familiar voice.
"Hey, teme, did you really think I wouldn't come to see you off? Jeez, sometimes you're just as stupid as me, 'ttebayo! I just didn't want to see off with Kakashi-Sensei because I know he would be all weird about it and just talk about how he got you out of prison."
"Is that so?" Sasuke tried not to smile, but he couldn't help it. He was so happy to see Naruto once more.
'Perfect! He doesn't suspect anything! He'll get so mad if I tell him I forgot he was leaving and slept in (⁠•⁠ ⁠▽⁠ ⁠•⁠;⁠)' Naruto thought.
"Um anyways, I just wanted to give this back to you. I know it's not really that much or anything but-"
" You still have this old thing!? I can't believe you kept it all these years..." Sasuke stared at his old headband (forehead protector, hitai-ate, whatever you wanna call it) with disbelief.
"Of course I did. It was something that kept me going..." 
The air around them became dark and depressing. Memories of past moments flooded their minds.
"Well, thanks. I'll keep it with me this time." Sasuke took the headband form Naruto and tied it to his belt. A reminder of everything Naruto has gone through for him, profe he never gave up or lost hope once. A sign to see that Naruto had brought him back from the pit of revenge and darkness, and saved him from the hell of being alone (so emo I know). The man he loved. 
He looked straight at Naruto, and Naruto smiled his signature smile, that everyone adored, that made everything seem okay. Sasuke stared at Naruto, with so much love. Love that he thought would never be returned. (Why is this so cringe)
Sasuke stepped closer. "Naruto, I..." Naruto opened his eyes and looked a bit surprised. Blue eyes met black. 
"I... I love you. I know you like Hinata. I just wanted to tell you before I left. I don't expect you to return my feelings. I hope we can still be friends..." 
" Wait- wait back up a bit-"
" Goodbye, Naruto." 
Sasuke lept up to the trees and went away, on his journey around the world, leaving Naruto stunned, and confused.
A/N Things are picking up O-O idk where I was really going with this, I just went with the flow lmao but I have the plot planned out for the most part lol 
The next chapter will be continuing the main story, but I think the next chapter will be a kakairu or kakairu/sakuhina. Idk just lemme know if you have specific request and I might use it 😭
