The second year of uni is officially over. Everyone is looking at their grades and trying to plan what comes next. For Romy, her grades are good and her goal of being more social has been achieved as well. She didn't expect to meet the love of her life but...there are no complaints about it.
Micky also has a good year when it comes to his studies. But the most important thing is that he also achieved his goal of finding a person he could have a real relationship with. A woman he really loves. He also didn't expect her to be the love of his life but he is most definitely not complaining either.
But Micky has another goal to achieve before the uni year fully ends. And that's winning a trophy with his team. That goal is only one win away...
"You ready?", asks him Romy when he's getting ready for the match.
"No?"
Romy laughs, getting closer to Micky to hold his hands. "Yes, you are. I know today is a big match".
"Biggest of my life", he points out.
"But...it's not the end of the world. And you've played so many times before, you know what to do".
"Do I?"
"Yes, you do. And I'll be there rooting for you".
That finally gets a smile from Micky, who leans down to hug Romy. He needs all of her strength before that match.
"Also", she starts. "I have a surprise for you".
"What?"
Romy leaves him by the sofa to go back to his room and closes the door behind her. Micky is so intrigued but guesses it has to be something good. And then...she opens the door again.
"Do you like my football outfit?"
Micky chuckles, walking towards Romy and lifting her up in the air before spinning her around.
"I love it".
When Micky invited Romy to her first match, she didn't know what to wear. She still feels a bit out of place at matches, seeing what other women wear. But today...she is on theme.
The weather is pretty nice so she's wearing jean shorts and a Tottenham University shirt with Micky's name and number on the back. The full footballer girlfriend uniform. Something she never expected to wear but she knows how much it means to Micky to see her supporting him like that.
"Now I really am ready. Thank you", he tells Romy, grabbing her hand so they can both go to the match.
After seeing so many matches in the stadium, and hearing Micky talking about football when they watch it on TV, Romy feels like she understands the sport quite well. Or at least she knows the basics, which seems like a lot to her.
The place is full of people. It's supposed to be a neutral venue for the final, but it's their team that comes from London so there are more Tottenham fans there.
The match doesn't start well. The other team has most of the possession and they manage to score an easy goal. Romy can see Micky shaking his head and probably blaming himself for conceding, even if he wasn't near the ball to do anything. But that's Micky.
Right before halftime, Pedro takes a chance to shoot to goal and manages to equalize. The whole team runs to where he is to congratulate him and just two minutes later, it's time for halftime.
"That's such an important goal", says someone who's sitting next to Romy. "Equalizing now will be a huge blow for them and so important for us".
Romy nods and saves that bit of information in her memory for another day. Football is way more complex than she gave the sport credit for.
