Chapter 3: Edd meets his brother

                                    

                                          
Edd had made them a snack and was taking a break from flying lessons.  Kevin could now fly a good ways now and Edd was proud of him.  Sitting at the table while Edd washed the dishes he couldn't help but steal glances at him.  He was interrupted when the phone rang.  "Hello, oh yes mother how are you and father doing.  Oh Kevin and I are doing just fine, he is flying much better now"  upon hearing that Kevin couldn't help but smile, Edd was praising him.  "WHAT?!?! My brother is in hospital? I haven't even met him yet" Edd's voice was raising and Kevin could hear tears coming.  "I will go there what room is he in?  Room 28 got it" Edd said as he hung up.  "I am coming too you know" Kevin brought Edd in a hug.  Edd nodded and came a small thanks and they were on Kevin's bike.  
                          
In no time at all they were at the hospital.  Edd determined to find out why in the world would his brother be in hospital didn't notice the cry's of infants but Kevin did and started to wonder what happened.  When they got to the room they knocked.  "Come in" came a voice that they thought they recognized.  Before they could open the door they heard another voice.  "Your dad got into a bad fight to protect papa and got a blind eye thanks to that.  There isn't anything I wouldn't do to keep you and papa safe" the voice said.  Looking puzzled at each other, Edd opened the door.  "JOHNNY?!?!" they gasped in unison earning a finger to the lips from one of the nurses in the hallway.  "Kevin? Edd? Why are you here?"  Dragoon hearing Edd's name looked confused.  "As in Eddward, baby?" he asked confused.  "How do you know my name?" Asked Edd in a threatening tone his eyes slits.  He could smell that they were the same as them.  Eyes wide he turned around to face two teenage boys in the hall one was a red head the other was had raven black hair and slit pupils.  Kevin feeling imitated felt the need to leave because of the man's look.  "Edd lets leave.  I don't know whats happening but I don't want you hurt lets practice on my flying" he begged.  "No not until I know why this person knows my name and is with Johnny or I'm calling the cops" Edd's voice made Kevin jump.  He never saw him like this not even when Edd thought he was protecting him when Nat showed up.  The man just sighed in response.  "What did mom tell you Edd?  I have a feeling she didn't tell you the whole truth"  he said with a hand running through his hair reveling the scar that was over his eye that's always hidden underneath his bangs.  Edd blinked confused he didn't understand what was happening now.  "Mother said my brother was in room 28 at the hospital so we came here as fast as we could but she didn't explain why he was in the hospital" Edd explained.  After hearing the explanation the man sighed and Johnny giggled making the baby coo, this confused Edd and Kevin even more now.   "The reason is be cause I gave birth to you're nephew Edd.  This man is your brother Dragoon Shadowpainter" Johnny explained.  Edd just stood there dumbfounded and his jaw pretty much hit the floor.  "Babe you O.k? You don't look that good" Kevin asked as he wrapped an arm around him.  "So he is playing around before getting his wings and tail huh" Dragoon looked at Kevin.  "I am his mate I grew my wings and tail only a few weeks ago" Kevin replied now starting to get pissed.  "Prove it and I will believe you and Edd too he is not even 18 yet so how could he have his wings and tail?" Now Edd was pissed he pulled Kevin through the door after him and shut the door.  His marbled wings and black tail came into view and Kevin's orange tail and wings right after.  "So my brother is the one to give the child in your relationship, interesting" Dragoon stated.  Dragoon then showed his marbled teal and black wings also his marbled teal and black tail.  Edd gasped he already knew his position and being told by another wasn't the best thing in the world.  "Dragoon what did I tell you 'don't get into a fight with your brother when you first meet him' ugh now what to do" came a female voice from behind Edd.   He turned around and found his mother and father at the door.  "Mom he was the one he started this one.  I only asked a question and he got all defensive.  Oh and the reason we have different last names is because my last name is mom's maiden name" Dragoon stated.  Edd was so confused and was still processing what happened.  "Do you want to see your grandson?" Johnny asked still holding the bundle in his arms.  Edd's parents nodded and went over to where dragoon and Johnny were.  By now everyone had hid their wings and tails.
