"You were seen?" Elizabeth asked with a slightly angry tone as Kyle and Danny stood in her office. Danny tensed at her icy tone, the humiliation from allowing himself to be seen swelling even more.
"I'm sorry, ma'am. I don't know how I forgot about the possibility of a silent alarm." Danny said quietly as he hung his head in shame to avoid looking at Elizabeth's disappointed eyes.
"He was also shot, so maybe ease up on him a bit, Chairman." Kyle said casually, causing Danny to tense, hoping that Elizabeth wouldn't just get angrier. Instead, she sighed deeply and Danny looked up to see her eyes closed.
"I'm sorry, Danny. I understand that you're still shaken up, but you must understand what has been set in motion." Elizabeth lowered her voice and spoke calmly. Of course, she didn't have to tell him what he had done, he could already guess.
"I do. The police force will be coming after us for breaking and entering, along with stealing from the police station. I've tarnished the good name of Sanctuary, I'm sorry." Danny spoke quietly as he lowered his head. Kyle saw Elizabeth adjust her interlocked hands on her desk and she swallowed.
"No, Danny. You haven't tarnished Sanctuary's name. I looked through the files and..." Elizabeth sighed before continuing, like she was about to say something bad. "They aren't aware of your affiliation with Sanctuary."
Danny looked up at her through his white hair with wide eyes. Kyle's eyes widened as well, not missing the implications of her words. "The police...are gunna target Danny." Kyle said quietly, almost in irritation as he wiped a hand down his face.
"That's right, and that's only assuming that they didn't recognize him during the conflict at the front gates." Elizabeth said as she looked at Kyle before her eyes swiveled to Danny, who was looking at her with frantic eyes. "Danny, I want you to understand that, while Sanctuary exists to protect humanity, it's main focus is saving Gifted. As long as you are a member here, we will make sure that you are safe and protected. Although, I will ask that...until further notice, you should not leave the grounds for any reason. I plan on telling Nathan the same thing, seeing how detailed his file was...it stands to reason that they are going to be working hard to find him as well."
"Wait, you're going to tell everyone?" Danny asked her suddenly, confused after all her secrecy before.
Elizabeth sighed again, "I have to. The information in these files have made things more complicated, especially considering a file that you have taken...a certain file labeled, The Doctor?" Danny and Kyle exchanged a nervous look before Elizabeth chuckled. "Boys, it's alright. I understand your reasoning, I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought about it."
"Thought about what?" Kyle asked. Before Elizabeth could answer, there was a knock at her office door.
"Come in." Elizabeth raised her voice slightly and the door creeped open and Elizabeth's secretary, Lisa, peeked her head inside.
"Ma'am, Dr. Faust is here." She said before Kyle and Danny exchanged a shocked look.
"Good, bring him in please." Elizabeth said before Lisa nodded once and ducked back out of the room. The two boys turned back to Elizabeth.
"Uhh..." Kyle hummed quietly, an open ended question for Elizabeth to hopefully answer.
"Look boys, I understand that this might be unsatisfactory, but the fact remains that he saved my daughter's life." Elizabeth said evenly, but there was a slight tremble in her words.
"Yeah, and he also brought Damien back to life, which led to Nyx being killed in the first place!" Kyle said angrily.
"He also created Orion." Danny spoke softly and Kyle looked over at him. "And Orion saved all of our lives in that warzone." He added, recalling when Orion had saved him from a fall that would've killed him.
