Satomi: "Accel, can we visit Yomikawa at her school?"
Accelerator glanced at her, noticing her hopeful, wide-eyed expression. With a sigh, he relented. "Fine, but we won’t stay for too long, okay, brat?"
Satomi beamed. "YAY!"
At the Academy
Akemi wandered through the academy grounds, her eyes scanning the crowd for any sign of Satomi and Accelerator. She knew the task her parents had given her was risky, but she had to succeed. She finally spotted them near the main entrance, Satomi skipping happily beside Accelerator, who looked as gruff as ever.
Summoning her courage, Akemi approached them with a friendly smile.
Akemi: "Hey! You’re Accelerator, right? And Satomi?"
Accelerator narrowed his eyes. "Who’s asking?"
Akemi: "My name’s Akemi. I’ve heard about you two, and I’ve been wanting to meet you. I’ve been looking into some of the strange things happening around here, and I think we might be on the same side."
Satomi tilted her head curiously. "What do you mean?"
Akemi: "I know about the people who are after you, Satomi. My parents are researchers, and they’ve mentioned some of the shady experiments going on. I want to help you."
Accelerator raised an eyebrow, skepticism clear on his face. "And why should we trust you?"
Akemi took a deep breath, trying to seem sincere. "Because I’m tired of seeing people get hurt. I want to make things right, and I think you do too. Plus, I know my way around the academy. I can be useful."
Satomi looked up at Accelerator. "Can we let her come with us? She seems nice."
Accelerator sighed, rubbing the back of his neck. "Alright, but if you try anything funny, you’ll regret it."
Akemi nodded quickly. "I understand. I just want to help."
As they walked through the academy together, Akemi subtly observed their interactions, taking mental notes. She knew she had to gain their trust fully to accomplish her mission. At the same time, she couldn't help but feel a growing respect for the determination in both Accelerator and Satomi.
At Yomikawa’s School
When they arrived at Yomikawa's school, the students were bustling about, and the atmosphere was lively. Yomikawa spotted them and waved, her expression a mix of surprise and warmth.
Yomikawa: "What brings you all here?"
Satomi: "We wanted to see you! And we brought a new friend. This is Akemi."
Yomikawa greeted Akemi with a nod. "Nice to meet you. Any friend of Satomi's is welcome."
Akemi smiled, feeling a bit of the tension ease. "Thank you. It’s nice to meet you too."
As they spent time at the school, Akemi kept her true intentions hidden, blending in as best she could. She listened carefully to their conversations, trying to glean any information that might be useful to her parents. Despite her mission, she couldn’t ignore the sense of camaraderie growing between them. She realized that the more she got to know Accelerator, Satomi, and Yomikawa, the harder it would be to betray them.
When it was time to leave, Satomi looked up at Akemi with a smile. "Thanks for coming with us. I hope we can be friends."
Akemi nodded, a pang of guilt tugging at her heart. "Yeah, me too."
As they walked back through the academy grounds, Akemi resolved to find a way to help her parents without hurting her new friends. She knew it wouldn’t be easy, but for the first time, she felt a spark of hope that she could make a difference.
