Summary - Mia just wants to spoil Charlotte and look after her. This starts off as a Reece and Mia conversation, then turns into a Mialotte interaction later.

Song lyrics are from "You're Still You" by Josh Groban if you want to know what the song Mia is singing would sound like.

Reece was typing rapidly and thinking about how much work he had left to do, when he heard the door to his office swing open. He looked up to see Mia holding a cute little panda teddy.

"Oh, hey Mia. What are you doing here?" He'd not actually seen the red head for a while.

"I've come to spend lunch with Char, she's not been having a very good week."

Reece raised his eyebrows "oh?"

Mia replied "the girls are on holiday with their Dad and she's missing them. Plus, she's had a load of parents shouting at her - the older kids being on their summer holidays must be taking its toll."

Reece felt bad, he hadn't realised that Charlotte had been struggling. She'd been covering at his nursery all week but in all honesty, he'd not had much chance to chat to her. He nodded at the teddy and said jokingly "so that's how you keep Charlotte so smitten."

Mia looked at him confused and said "what?"

"Gifts and treats. I knew you must have some kind of trick up your sleeve." He chuckled, but stopped immediately when he saw that Mia looked angry. He was only joking around.

"For your information numb-nuts, it's nothing to do with that. I just want to look after her, she spends all day attending to everyone else's needs and all she gets in return is abuse. She deserves to be pampered and doted on and it's my job to make sure that happens." She was still glaring at him, daring him to try and wind her up further.

Seeing as Reece valued his life he simply nodded and said "Mia I get it, I was only kidding. I'm the same with Marjorie." He genuinely meant no harm.

The red heads face softened slightly as she replied "right, well I just came to say hello. I'm going to find Char." With that, she was gone, leaving Reece to reevaluate his ability to read the room.

After work, Charlotte smiled as she placed her little panda toy on the passenger seat. She'd been so happy when Mia surprised her at lunch time, it had been such a shitty morning (and week). Mia had taken Charlottes house key with her, promising the brunette she would be there to greet her when she returned home.

As soon as she walked through the unlocked door Mia came rushing out of the kitchen to embrace her. As Charlotte felt the red heads soft, warm body pressing against her, her troubles melted away.

Mia led the brunette through to the lounge, where she had placed a beautiful bunch of black and red roses on the coffee table. She turned to Charlotte and asked "Sweetheart, will you dance with me?"

After dinner, once Charlotte was settled in the bath that Mia had ran for her, the red head walked into the bathroom and sat on the edge of the tub where she started gently washing Charlottes hair. This was something they did every Friday evening, like a ritual just for them. Nobody who knew Mia would believe that she could be so gentle and loving, which made Charlotte feel like the luckiest girl in the world. Her favourite part of this whole ritual was that Mia would sing to her - another thing nobody knew was that Mia was a beautiful singer.

"I look up to, everything you are,
In my eyes you do no wrong,
And I believe in you,
Although you never asked me to,
I will remember you,
And what life put you through,
And in this cruel and lonely world,
I've found one love"

As Mia's voice echoed around the room, Charlotte could feel the gentle notes washing over her. She closed her eyes as the red head brushed through her hair, listening to the lyrics she had picked for this evening "your face I've memorised, I idolise just you..."

Mia always chose the perfect song.

That night as Charlotte drifted off to sleep wrapped safely in Mia's arms, she thought back to a time that she thought she'd never feel loved again. Now, she couldn't imagine a time where she'd ever feel anything less than adored. Just as she finally fell asleep, she heard Mia's voice singing by her ear, so quietly she could only just hear her.

"Through the darkness, I can see your light,
And you will always shine,
And I can feel your heart in mine..."

Mia would do anything for her.

She even sang to her.
