"Madeline, Mistress Elinor wants you in her office." One of Madeline's friends said walking up to her as she was busy doing her chores.

Madeline's heart raced as she was summoned to the head maid's office, her mind racing with worry. Had she made another mistake? Was she in trouble for something she hadn't even realized she'd done wrong? Was she going to get fired for being late so often?

As she entered the office, she found Mistress Elinor sitting behind her desk, a serious expression on her face. Madeline approached cautiously, her hands trembling slightly at her sides.

"Madeline," Mistress Elinor began, her tone grave yet strangely unreadable. "I've called you here to discuss a matter of great importance."

Madeline swallowed nervously, bracing herself for whatever news awaited her. "Yes, Mistress?"

Mistress Elinor fixed her with a penetrating gaze, her eyes seeming to search Elara's soul for something unseen. "The king has asked me for some help with his tasks. I've found out you should do it," she announced, her words sending a shockwave of surprise through Madeline's senses.

"The king?" Madeline  repeated, her voice barely above a whisper. "Me? but why?" She asked confused as she was sure she was Elinor her least favorite maid.

Mistress Elinor leaned forward, her expression softening with a hint of sympathy. "I think it's a great opportunity to show me ur not just a maid who is late everytime," she explained gently. "I don't want to fire you Madeline, but your not doing great."

Madeline's mind reeled at the revelation, her heart pounding with a mixture of disbelief and uncertainty. To be chosen as the king's personal attendant was a tremendous honor—one that carried with it both privilege and responsibility.

"But what if I do fail? Will I be fired?" she murmured, her thoughts racing with questions.

Mistress Elinor offered her a reassuring smile. "Making mistakes are okay dear, but make sure to not make the king disappointed or yes, you will be fired," she replied cryptically.

Madeline  felt a surge of determination welling up within her. She may not understand the reasons behind Elinor her  decision, but she would not disappoint the king or herself.

As she left Mistress Elinor's office, her mind buzzing with thoughts of her new role, Madeline couldn't help but wonder what lay ahead. She went home with a thousands thoughts in her mind. But they all went away as she arrived home and saw her two younger sisters playing together in their garden.

"Maddie!" Her youngest sister giggled as she saw Madeline while being chased by Cleo.

"How was work?" Cleo said out of breath by running after Lilah.

"Well I actually got an opportunity to be the king his personalmaid." She explains.

"What?! That's so cool!!" Cleo screamed.

"You might fall in love with the king." Lilah said mocking her older sister.

"Oh please, I'm just a maid." Madeline said laughing at her sister.

"I wish I could be a maid then." Cleo said fantasizing her love life.

"I want to marry a king one day." Lilah said joining Cleo's fantasy.

"You girls need to sleep and dream about that then I'm afraid?" Madeline said looking at the clock.

"Nooooo we are not tired yet." They both said whining.

"Can you atleast read us something before bed?" Cleo asked her older sister with puppy eyes.

"Stop looking at me like that." Madeline laughed at her. "Fine I will." She said standing up and walking to her bookshelf. "Wich one?"

"Beauty and the beast!"

"Cinderella fits more to Madeline her lifestory right now." Cleo said mocking her oldest sister.

"I agree. Cinderella please." Lilah said.

Madeline rolled her eyes as she grabbed the book. "Upstairs you two."

Both of the girls and upstairs and began to lay down on their bunk beds. Madeline tucked them in and began to read the story.

"So romantic." Cleo said still fantasizing about her dream prince.

"I'm so in love." Lilah agreed to Cleo.

Madeline shook her head at the two girls. Laughing at them. "You girls are so weird."

"Better weird than boring."

Madeline smiled at her younger sisters before continuing to read. Both of her sisters fell asleep in the middle of the story. And as Madeline was already tired. She decided to just go and sleep in her own bed.
