SIDDHARTH'S POV
"You should try and calm down."
Myra said, crossing her arms against her chest as she looked at me like a teacher. I rolled my eyes and leaned my back against the bed rest before answering her with a sarcastic chuckle.
"Oh wow, I didn't think about that."
A sigh escaped my mouth as my gaze scanned the room trying to find a possible source for my calmness. The brightly lit room was irritating my eyes, So I got up to dim the lights. As the lights fell off, her hair shined even brighter as she was looking over at the still pouring sky through the glass window.
Everything felt silent, I stood there for a few seconds observing her before discreetly getting on the bed once again while she was still lost in her mind. I cleared my throat to catch her attention but she paid no heed. So I escorted to the last option and tapped on her shoulder as I spoke.
"Miss Myra, I thought the doctor assigned you some task?"
"Make room for me."
She said shortly, confusion spread over my face while I scooted to the side of the bed. She sat in front of me, looking straight into my eyes causing my heart to almost skip a beat. I cursed myself internally for getting affected by her mere gaze, Is this how she will calm me down?
"Look at me."
She demanded, as if I was not already doing that since the whole night. Her next course of action left me speechless, she held both of my hands in hers and intertwined our fingers. The softness and warmth of her hands drew me in, like everything stopped for sometime.
"Now, take deep breaths with me, imagine a moment when you felt the calmest."
This.
This was the moment right here when I felt the calmest. My mind skimmed through various happy moments I experienced in 28 years of my life, the first deal I cracked, Holding a board meeting for the first time, making it in the list of top 10 entrepreneurs in Mumbai to top 5 and then the first.I searched and searched but couldn't grasp such a moment when my heart was this calm, when my mind wasn't rushing on what to do next. This moment felt like the first break you take after running a marathon. Her chest moved up and down as she took deep breaths while I followed her instructions like an obedient child.
It felt strangely calm, I never wanted that moment to end. The energy she radiated through that mere touch and the calmness behind her shining orbs was like a soft breeze of air caressing your forehead in a sunny afternoon. It was almost magical how she managed to be an enduring ball of positivity at such a time.
I couldn't see anything else. My gaze was stuck at observing her face as I took in very little detail, from the little mole right below her left eye to the way her eyelashes fluttered whenever she blinked. She softly pushed me down by my shoulders as I laid down, still clutching onto her hand.
She called the doctor who came within a minute. My right arm was pulled by him as he tied a band around it and started finding a vein. I almost flinched every time his fingers touch me, fearing this would be the moment he'll inject me.
"If it hurts, just hold my hand tighter."
Myra's hushed words made me unclench my eyes as I looked at her slightly shocked. She just gave me a smile and softly caressed the back of my palm with her thumb. Tingles all over my body, it was the first time someone did that to me and the fact that it was her, made it feel a million times better.
