*Amelia's POV*

Tomorrow I go back to school and I'm not excited. But this Friday is Rose's 8th birthday. Today, I invited Gio, Mia and Jacob to have lunch at my house.

"So Amelia, what are you buying Rose?" Mia asked me.

"Not saying." I said as I bit into my burrito.

"We're filming a podcast right after lunch, right?" Gio asked.

"Yeah." Me and Jacob said. Gio then started telling us a funny story. We were dying of laughter when my phone rang.

"Amelia." I heard my cousin Ramon. "La...Abue ha fallecido. (Grandma passed away)." He told me and I couldn't believe it.

"Acaba de fallecer? De que? (Has she just passed away? From what?)" I asked him.

"Fallecio hace tres horas. Ataque de corazón. (She passed away three hours ago. Heart attack)" He explained to me.

"Voy para Mexico lo más pronto posible. (I'm going to Mexico as soon as possible.)" I said and hanged up.

"Beautiful, you okay? What's wrong?" Jacob asked me.

"My grandma passed away." I said bursting in tears. Realization hitting. Jacob came up and hugged me. Mia and Gio joining as I cried my heart out.

"What's happening?" I heard mom.

"My grandma...she's dead." I said with my broken voice. Mom grabbed my hand. Dad joined the hug. Rose and Dodger too. I started calming down and everyone started letting go except Jacob.

"What can we do?" Mom asked me.

"How soon can I fly to Mexico?" I asked her. "Please." I told her.

"Start packing, we'll drop you off in two hours." Dad told me. I ran upstairs and grabbed a small luggage. I was finishing up when I saw mom at the door.

"Need help?" She offered.

"Hug please." I told her and she was quick to give me hug.

"Stay safe." She told me. I let go and brought my luggage down saying goodbye to everyone. I got in the car between my parents since security was driving us.

"Tell us more about her." Dad told me.

"She was my adoptive dad's mom. She used to take care of me whenever my adoptive parents weren't up to dealing with kids. She was a strong woman. Always looked up to her. Her cooking just to die for." I explained and I could feel tears coming up.

"Do you know how long you'll be there?" Mom asked me.

"The funeral will be in 3 or 2 days. After that they do like a ceremony that lasts 9 days. I'll have to see." I told them. I laid my head against dad's shoulder. My parents dropped me off and I soon was heading back to Mexico.

*Amelia's POV*

Yesterday I got to Mexico late afternoon and I'm staying in the house where I grew up the last few years before I left. I have been sending money to remodel the home and it has been turning out nice. Tomorrow is my grandma's funeral. Today is going to be arranging everything that needs to be completed.

*Amelia's POV*

Yesterday was my grandma's funeral and it was really sad. It's still hard to cope with the fact that she's gone. Right now, everyone is fighting for all the assets that belonged to my grandma. I'm calling my parents right now.
