Seeing as they had no choice but to do as they were told, the guests made themselves comfortable and sat with their friends and family. James brought his friends Sirius, and Remus up to speed while Lily went to talk to her friend Alice. After helping Alice's husband Frank fix his hearing aid (his hearing was too badly damaged by the Death Eaters for magic to heal just like how the nerves in Alice's legs were too damaged to fix with magic or potions and she has been confined to a wheelchair ever since (A/N: I wanted to have the Longbottoms be in this story but still be affected by the Death Eater attack so rather than be in a medical coma I changed it so they were either crippled or deaf) they made their way over to their respective families and made themselves comfortable on the bean bags, loveseats, couches, etc that all around the room.
"Um, so..what are we supposed to do now?" Sirius asked. Almost on queue two spots on the floor began to bubble with what almost looked like liquid metal. The teachers and aurors drew their wands in case this was a threat but soon everyone watched in awe as two pillars grew up from the ground until they reached the ceiling, the "liquid metal" flowing between them forming what looked like a giant wall sized mirror. "Incredible, I have never seen magic like this before." Dumbledore said in a voice full of wonder and curiosity. Conversations settled down as the mirror or perhaps it would be more accurate to refer to it as a screen turned black. The mood in the room immediately changed when they saw the words that appeared on the screen.

The Potter's and many others tensed, why were they being shown this?
We hear the giggle of two toddlers and their grandparents playing in a small cottage. "Okay you two I think it's time for bed." The camera changes and we see Charlus Potter with a giggling little girl on his knee, this little girl with dark red hair and green eyes is Larinda Potter.

Lily whimpers and her eyes start to water when she sees her daughter.
"Don't worry you two mommy and daddy will be home soon" We see Dorea Potter holding a little Harry in her arms. "Don't you want them to see how good you were while they were away?" She says with a warm smile. The scene changes to the nursery where we see Charlus reading the twins a bedtime story when he suddenly tensed, the wards had been breached.
Those who realized what was happening tensed, Lily buried her head in her husband's chest while James just held her and ran his fingers through her hair to try and comfort her.
Immediately he drew his wand and yelled "DOREA!! The wards-" he was interrupted by the sound of the front doors being blown off. A moment later he heard his wife call out to him "Charlus it's him! Take the kids and run, I'll-" before she could finish there was a loud bang and the sound of the ceiling collapsing. "Dorea!?!...Honey!?!" Reluctantly he rushed back to the nursery trying not to think about whether his wife was alive or dead. He quickly barricaded the door hoping to slow the assailant down while he escaped with his grandchildren. Grabbing a crying Harry and Lara he attempted to portkey away and when that failed he tried apparating but nothing happened, there must be anti-apparation and portkey wards around the house. With no other option he put the twins back in their crib and cupped both their cheeks. "Harry, Lara grandpa loves you, grandma loves you. This may be the last time we see each other. I would have loved to watch you grow up but it looks like fate has other plans." He kissed both on the head then stood up and drew his wand ready to make his last stand.
