It was a chilly evening, as you stood outside the brightly lit casino - the sign glittered, the twinkly lights dancing, enticing you to enter.
You were unsure as to why your best friend Kaeya wanted to hang out here tonight - you knew he was no saint, but also did not expect an intelligent man like him to gamble. To you, it wasn't very attractive.
"Y/N!"
You turned, and was met with Kaeya strolling up to you; you had to admit, his exquisite outfit and gold-sapphire earrings glowed in this lighting. His tan skin shone too - you shook your head to yourself, acknowledging these thoughts and then letting them float away. As Kaeya slowed down, you hugged him tight and were about to greet him, but the aroma of an unfamiliar scent silenced you. It was a gorgeous, expensive, sharp scent, with dark, seductive notes that attempted to lull you in...
"What in the world is wrong with me today..?" you mentally tsked, before sniffing the scent and looking up at Kaeya, who smirked.
"Like it Y/N? Oho, no need to reply...your closeness says it all, the Cavalry Captain silkily murmured. You chuckled and playfully punched Kaeya, stepping away. You gestured to the casino in a matter-of-factly fashion.
"Shall we?"
Kaeya stepped forward, offering his arm to you, which you accepted, and the both of you entered the casino.
Entranced, your eyes glowed with wonder - this was truly a city that never sleeps. The machines sang as money was gained, and howls could be heard as money was lost. The interior was exquisitely decorated, a ruby carpet and golden lights everywhere you looked. Unaware, your mouth hung open in awe, and Kaeya gently closed it.
"Let us rule this place, Y/N."
You nodded and followed your best friend to the poker table, where a few Treasure Hoarders and an unfamiliar ginger-haired man played, cackling away.
Upon yours and Kaeya's arrival, the table fell silent and the pyro-haired man slithered up to you, smiling warmly.
"Hey there girlie, this your first time here?" the man asked. You knew better than to respond unnecessarily, but your silence spoke for you. The man's smile widened, before he bowed to you.
"I'm Tartaglia, although for a beauty like you, I can be whatever you want to call me!"
You felt awkward at this suggestive statement, yet part of you blushed; Tartaglia had very, very well-endowed genetics, from his ambitious eyes to his smile and mannerisms so far.
All of a sudden, you felt Kaeya lean into the conversation, his face very close beside yours, your cheeks briefly touching.
"Tartaglia, I am surprised that you are still here - still looking for a win? Since your little career clearly is not doing much for you," Kaya growled deeply. You held your breath, having never seen this side of him before...it stirred something inside of you...it was hot.
"Alberich, I have won many fights lately haha, thanks for asking!" Tartaglia laughed, "And whether the Fatui does much for me or not, at least I am loyal. As for you, I'm sure the people of Khaenri'ah would disagree!"
Your body instantly felt extremely cold - a significant contrast to the warm casino - you knew that Kaeya was internally angered, his coldness growing inside of him.
"Me and you, Tartaglia. Let's play a game shall we? With a large reward too." Kaeya coldly spoke. Tartaglia's smile curled into a smirk, and his now lustful eyes fell on you, travelling up and down your body. You shivered, uneasy.
"Sure, the winner gets Y/N."
Upon hearing that nonsensical offer, you were about to protest - what a silly prize, and so objectifying too - before you were cut off.
"Challenge accepted." Kaeya smirked, before bellowing a deep laugh, taunting him. You looked at him in horror, furious at his acceptance. Kaeya's gaze shifted towards you, and softened. He leant in, cupping your cheeks and whispering in your ears, "All those times where you've needed me, I've been there. This is another time Y/N, and I'll be there." His lips accidentally brushed your ears as he spoke, and you blushed, feeling something melt inside.
"Damn it Kaeya," you internally admitted, "Whether you win or not, you've got me."
